The big battery boxes are much more powerful. I use those all the time for heavy switching locomotives like GE u25bs. Also instead of Super Power Functions you should call it Super Functions

Actually... there is a battery box that has a built in speed controller... the rechargeable box. crazy expensive nowadays though.
