I don't know if you deliberately chose not to add an XP backtank to your backpack since it takes away inventory space, but you can set it up to automatically store xp and mend your tools and can also pick up xp from the farm

I think I might've done this if it wasn't so easy to use XP nuggets and it only took 1 slot!! but great tip for maybe longer playthroughs or peeps who don't know!!
