Our massive French Cleat Skil Power Tool Wall has come to end, but not before I show you all probably my favourite and easiest french cleat hack so far! I built this wall simply with the aid of some IKEA hack picture frames, and after discovering the amount of consumables, blades and accessories that arrived with my SKIL power tools, I decided it was best time to create this fold-out french cleat panel to properly store everything in an ingenious way! What do you think?

Please do a Bosch video. I love this frame idea so much I am building one for my garage with custom frames instead of ikea frames. I have a hard time keeping things organized so by eliminating horizontal work spaces I’m hoping to make my shop less cluttered and frustrating to work in. Lmk if you’re interested in seeing my final product!

That's an insulation cutter. They can also be used on dense foam and polystyrene, I believe.

A bit of a quirky suggestion but you could do a wall of cheap knockoff Amazon, wish, Temu, etc.. power tools like a wall of shame? 🤷🏻‍♂️

@@ShadowFoam I’m just still amazed at how good things look and how easy the foam seems to be to work with. Once I’ve managed to get the new house fully furnished I will definitely be looking to get some new tools and do some sort of project

I’ve got one of the Stanley roller tool boxes that I use to store spray bottles of wood stains for use when I’m turning wood. I really want to use shadow foam but can’t get my head around how to make best use of the depth. I hope you’re at makers central again this year as I’m going to speak to you about it and how I can do it properly 👍🏻

Nice finish to the Skil Power Tool Wall. Not sure about storing the grinder in parts though, that will become be a pain to assemble every time it gets used.

Fair enough point, what would you have stored in there?

@@ShadowFoam I guess he's referring to the guard and handle for the grinder? Did you do that so you could place the grinder sideways with the SKIL logo visible? When I do this I think I would prefer to leave the guard, handle, and probably a disk installed on the grinder.

I'd love to know what you think of PowerPlus tools (their pro range is called PowerPro) I thought they were a knock-off brand but apparently they're a Belgian brand from Varo (That also have the budget handtools and toolboxes Kreator brand). Thought about picking up an electric screwdriver from them but the store guy started laughing when I asked where they were in quality on a scale between Bosh green and Bosh blue. So I went to the Aldi nextdoors and got me a Ferrex that was on sale for €50 instead until I can make my mind up. Also, have you done anything on lab glassware with shadowfoam yet?

I'm curious about how you keep some of the heavier tools from falling out. Like that circular saw that is sticking halfway out, is there a magnet or velcro or something holding it in?

@ShadowFoam

i cut it at 90 degrees but snug, you could do it at an upward angle to create a lip if you want though, i see that working too
