Grease as a sealant is bomb, especially using a thin layer. I prefer it to heavier oils because it stays put and the shine doesn't fade. I focus it on my ends so I don't have to worry about build up on my scalp. A little eco styler and it holds for days.

This is a good tip! My ends get really dry and a grease like this is perfect to help with that.

Grease is wonderful for low porosity hair. Oil just sits on top and leaves hair dry and oil for lo po hair. Grease softens, smooths and condions the hair. During the week you just reapply a moisturiser and reseal with grease.

I think using grease is a great sealant. I use Blue Magic Originals, the one that has shea butter, jojoba oils, and Japanese green tea leaves in it. I mix a small amount with black castor oil and then melt it like an oil. Just use a small amount to cover the hair only and not the scalp. This will seal moisture in your hair.

The oils only ran down my face and left my hair dry by the end of the day! I have the Blue Magic right now, but will purchase the Bronner Brothers product used in this video next. If it is not wash day, I refresh my hair by spritzing with water, adding a leave-in conditioner and sealing with hair grease. Blue magic gave me the same hold if not a better hold than a gel. So I think you using the conditioner was what made it not hold as well. Blue magic says that’s its a conditioner on its own and they were not lying. I tested it out on my long, low porosity hair and I was able to just use aloe Vera juice/water and just the grease and my hair stayed defined and moisturized for 5 days no problem. After that I started to noticed that my scalp was itching and my hair still felt conditioned, but dry at the same time, my ends also started to feel really weird at day 7. So yeah, I would recommend washing your hair 2 a week if you are only using grease, or making it thinner with an oil.
