Two years ago I went back to grease. I can honestly say my hair suffered throughout the years of NOT using hair grease. It was dry, not growing as fast and broke easily. Now back with grease my hairs growing faster, looks thicker silkier and healthier. I will never stop using hair grease again.

Who started these hair type names? I am tired of them labeling us and we run with it. 🤔
@Stranger_Than_Fiction2993 жыл бұрын
Oprah's hairdresser wrote a book, from what I understand and it outlined a chart and definitions from stick straight to tight coil curly. They added two more in between types to the chart since then. I think the purpose was to facilitate people in sharing hair information more effectively with all the hair diversity out there. I thought it was interesting when I just learned that today.

Seriously I feel like it's holding us back and making us focus on texture instead of what's more important hair porosity
@bettyduncan85803 жыл бұрын
@@amayam1894 You are right. I have found out for me and I think the most important thing about hair is the porosity.
@alisajackson16973 жыл бұрын
The hair typing system is racist in origin. The creator basically said the only thing you can do with "Type 4" hair is relax it. The density (thin/ thick) and texture (fine/ dense) of your hair are more important than the type of curl you have.

I’ll never forget that it took my white, gay male friend to tell me “ girlfriend, that oil ain’t working for you” 🤣 I somehow forgot that I used this exact same grease in my son hair when he was a baby and by the time he was 2, his hair was waist length. I never related his wild hair growth to this product when others asked “ how did his hair get so long?”..lol Thanks for the great reminder and I love the results it had on your beautiful hair. When I was growing up, grease was used on my scalp... Vaseline. My mother would wash my hair and grease my scalp. Then as I got older I used Blue Magic, Ultra Sheen, BB Super Gro, Palmer's Coconut Oil formula, and a few others. Personally, natural hair is too dry to NOT use grease, it prevents dry scalp. I stopped using grease to because I also "heard " or was told it would clog my pores. I think that's where many of us went wrong. I don't remember ever having an itchy scalp when I was using grease nor was it ever dry. Well, if using grease you have to wash your hair with a clarifying shampoo that will clean the scalp well and get rid of all product buildup. I'm putting grease back into my hair regimen

Yesss, I agree. My hair loves grease. My hair stays moisturized for so much longer when I use it in my hair.

I stopped using hair grease because I started to use just oils but notice that it started to break off when I went natural . But I went back to hair grease. The old school ones work best example....Blue magic, Dax. Softee. I now use it twice a week with my oils. And my hair has gotten better no breakage. And I wash my hair once a week. I used to wash it twice a month. But I’ve changed my regimen. Dax is what my grandma used to use and the old school stuff is a lot better than today’s products
@Blessing07164 жыл бұрын
I stop using all the extra stuff spending unnecessary money. I started back using products from my mom as a little. I use the Mane and tail shampoo and conditioner. Deep conditioning is Queen Helen Cholesterol and leave in conditioner is Mane and Tail. I use blue magic Hair grease green or blue color. We used the Dax before as well so I may try that again. Love you hair!

Pomades are made to hold styles as well as add shine to your hair. Grease doesn't hold styles. So the Dax pomade act as a gel, w/o the dryness to hold your twist and give that definition.

Desiree the Cantu leave-in conditioner is good, I have 4c hair also, and it works wonders for my hair, grease is good also if you don't over do it, I use it on wash day to put the oils back in my hair, so my hair won't dry out at the end of the day.
