TO SPECIFY: A lot of people are saying that i'm breaking my own rule by adding two tricks together (backside bigspin and fakie frontside flip) That is technically true, however the idea behind it is to do BOTH of those tricks in one fluid motion rather than doing the first, pausing, and then doing the second. It should look like one trick in one fluid motion. ALSO, it is still new as far as concept goes, no one has ever done a bigspin (frontside or backside) and then caught it and brought it back around without pivoting. Even wothout adding the kickflip. When I added the "don't add tricks together" rule it was more so to avoid people saying things like "triple flip late 540 shuv" then saying "Quad flip late 720 shuv" and then just infinitely adding flips and spins to tricks that already exist to make them harder without any sort of limit. The fact that this trick INVOLVES a completely new and never been done concept, and can be done in a singular fluid motion makes it acceptable in my opinion!... I'm gonna take a day or two to try to land one for a video using a ramp! Wish me luck!

It's not the fact that you added a trick but rather you added to the physics without knowing. The physics in skate 3 are close to but do not accurately mirror our physics. You don't need to be a scientist to know that you can't rotate two different directions in the same jump. A more accurate representation would be more along the lines of a back flip pressure flip or something along those lines seeing as landing those tricks would be closer to the realm of probability in my theoretical perspective. Still enjoyed the video, and sick skate tricks.

@@Jukinj94 as long as the legs return to the other direction to catch the board again, it can be done. I just tested the jumping motion required without a board.
@Jukinj945 жыл бұрын
@@Michael-dj6pd We are talking about being able to spin entirely in another direction, not the act of landing the board to complete it. Yes you can work your legs in that way but it will still never allow you to redirect mid-air. Also in theory you can have any leg motion down but putting it to action with an actual board will improve your results. Without that form of testing your results are relying on a muscle memory you don't truly have experience with.

i think it would be interesting for you to dive into the thermo dynamics of this trick. You seem to have a good grasp of the law of motion and I want to see how heat transfer and general energy transfer come into this trick
@SpencerBarton4 жыл бұрын
It’s not a matter of thermo dynamics of “this trick” as much as it is skateboarding in general. So yes also this trick. Skateboarding tricks (flip tricks especially) are largely based on friction, which is heat. That heat plays a role in the physics of what is being done at an INCREDIBLY small scale, Which is why I said “if you want to get really deep”. And if you wanna get “really deepER”, thermodynamics can be applied to virtually anything that has any friction at all. Friction is a form of heat transfer which is general energy.
@brandoncourtney8814 жыл бұрын
Spencer Barton I see your point on friction upon the board leaving the ground however wouldn’t quadratic drag take over while the board is in the air. Quadratic drag is the component of drag that takes over when an object accelerates past walking speed (rough estimate). For example it is marginally harder to do flip tricks in more humid climates such as Florida due to the quadratic drag being higher due to the higher amount of water molecules in the air (of course this is marginal at best however it is there). It would be a cool video for you to dive deep into the physics behind it. I’m glad there is a skater with a solid background in physics!! You can really break down how to preform a trick on the most basic levels with nothing more than a force diagram!!
