@@antygod I think you missed his point. This doesn't pay out 1:1 so he's saying that if you played without a max bet you would eventually end up with 80% of your starting bankroll. But I agree that you would also need infinite money in order for that to be possible. In the example in the video you have a 2^6 chance of losing your bankroll which although a 1 in 64 chance seems low, in the long-run it will definitely happen. Martingale only works in the short term.

We've all been young and foolish and lost money using Martingale at some point... It's a very good lesson to learn about probability (and how bad humans are at understanding it) and compounding, now take that and apply it in reverse to make money by making sound, long term, investments. Casinos love people using this system as ultimately it's them who walks away with the money.

The only problem is every time when doubling after loosing, you only do this to rescue your initial bet of 10$ by risking a lot more. Combining it with a progressive system would be more interesting, like 5$, 15$, 45$, 120$ etc.
@the-real-sleep
@the-real-sleep 2 жыл бұрын
no, if you for example, lose the first 10$ and then bet 20$ and win you are 10$ up. Because 20 x 2 = 40. So first -10 then +20, 20 - 10 = 10
@4lround3r

@@the-real-sleep yes but my point was, if you start betting 10 you want to win 10, but if you lose 10 and then bet 20, and lose 20, you already lost 30. then you bet 40, and if you win, you won 40 - 30 = 10. so you always try to rewin your 10 for a higher possible loss.

@@4lround3ryou are correct. The reason the martingale does not work and its not hated by casinos like card counting is because there are table limits. Also, if the balls lands on red 6 times in a row the chance of it hitting red again is still 47 percent. The previous color does not effect the next outcome. Also you will end up risking hundreds of dollars to win a small initial bet of 10 or 20 dollars. On the other hand, try card counting in a casino and see how that goes lol

You’ve been losing martingale all the time you use it because you should accept a loss when you know you’re going to run out of money. That’s how martingale works So basically when you hit that 100$ bet and lost instead of going up to 200$ and 500$ you should just start all over again Because at that point you’re only 2 losses away from losing 800$ Why commiting to that risk, walk away start over with 10$ that means you have a buffer to lose 100$ 8 times instead of putting your entire account on the line If you made 100$ in 15 mins and getting above 100$ bet is pretty rare you could just accept the 100$ loss and move on and start the martingale all over again that would increase your overall win rate %

In this case martingale would work better if you would be checking 5 second candles as your entries was for 5 seconds, as you were on 1 minute candle you should have been using 1 minute expiration time plus the martingale entry should be straight after you lose and not on your next reading as the chances that you would have 6 green or red candles in a raw are very little, and you should have chose a pair that has the minimum amount of same colour candles in a raw :) And the principle of general trading should apply to this aswell set a target :)

They make the vig which is good, but on the occasional big bets, it would be easy to automate a purchase of any stock you bet will fall right at 5s with the same amount you put in. Then they freeroll the stock with your money and sell it whenever. This would work every time when it's close, which is another huge margin on the already high vig. Getting the stock to fall would be trickier, but an AI could handle, and micro manipulate, a large portfolio against any number of players.

Making roughly 20% in under an hour is impressive. I think your focus probably dropped off after making that first $200, due to executing many trades/wanting to risk more. This inherently caused you to force bad set ups I can imagine. A seasoned investor would've taken the day off at that point and waited until tomorrow to come back. Not an expert here, however, I know the best traders would be fine with 20% in a day. If you pushed it to a full week challenge, and made only 1 hour sessions, that could potentially give a different result. Not saying that this is anything someone should do full-time and definitely not trying to defend the casino. Think another video treating it like a seasoned investor, who doesn't force day to day trades would be a nice comparison. Either way great content as always ✌

It's not skill, just probability. He's playing a losing system. All the casino needed to do to win all his money was allow him to play for long enough. Humans are really bad at conceptualising probability, leading to systems like the Martingale appealing to us when if we take time to look into the maths, it's clear that it can't work in the long-term if your wealth isn't infinite.

Assuming you have a 50% to win (roulette is 48.6%) and you have 100dollars and want to get 200 with 1 dollar bets, meaning you would have to win 100times to double your money with a 1/100 chance to lose it all each time. you can write the equation: Probability (win 100) = (1-(1/100))^100 So if you plug that into a calculator you have 36.6% to double your money or a 63.3% chance to lose it all.

I tried this about 15 years ago, I used an online roulette and started my bets at £1, it was going quite well at first and I was up about £160 when I chose the wrong color 13 times in a row and it took all my money which I believe was a total fix because that is so unlikely, I actually tested it with a toy roulette wheel and won overall every time, but the reality is that it's a scam and programmed for you to lose

@@itsmealex8959 You can only lose if your initial bet was too high and you run out of money, the odds of getting it wrong 13 times straight must be astronomical, definitely fixed, try and spin a coin and get either heads or tails 13 times in a row and see how long it takes, you won't do it so the odds are massively stacked in my favour, the real problem is it is a very slow way to win money as long as you are not being cheated by the system
@itsmealex8959

@@designer-garb572 Yeah that's not how probability works. I looked it up, there's above a 1% chance of 13 losses in a row, so it isn't astronomically unlikely. Not to mention the odds of this happening to you will increase the more you play. Additionally, your bet size doesn't matter with this system because it can't handle losing streaks. If you bet only $1, you'll have to bet over $8000 after 12 losses. And that's a lot of money on the line just to break even. This system only works with an infinite bankroll.

I’m sorry you lost the money but at the same time I’m glad you showed that at the end of the day it still is gambling and is still very easy to lose everything you bet

Martingale can work on daytrading, there are just some important things to consider. First of all you should have some trading rules to stick to and secondly, a high capital and low risk. This is necessary to avoid high drawdown/burning your account. Use it on a pair that consolidates a lot is very important too (EURUSD works fine for example). Since using low risk can take very long I would advise using a bot for this strategy. Let me know if you want more info ;)

daytrading is mostly luck so you can lose way more than 6 times in a row if you are unlucky maybe on trading it could actually work but still it would make no sense since you are not waiting to get a 2x profit

@@ftwxosmariossi think what you can do is limit yourself and play with profits, but that would only delay the inevitable i guess

The numbers don't lie. As long as there's a probability of wipe out, the odds of it happening increase with every single bet.

Imagine being a company selling these options, and you know nobody will ever make a profit with the time limit and all or nothing profit. But still being so damn greedy that you limit the payout to just 86%. Just insane. Make a simple interface and people will throw money at you.

I did it with every 1 minute candle stick where I made by bet based on the previous candle stick’s color. If I lost, I would double the amount. This is better because it never alternates one to the other 6+ times in a row. I put 1k into the demo account and made about 1k every 20-30 min. I have 8k right now in total, so 7k profit. I’ll keep doing this for a few more days to see if my strategy keeps working

I came up with this same strategy and used it when I was about 16 in a csgo gambling site where I would wait for a train to form of about 6 balls with the same color and then start betting against them, doubling my bet every time. I won about 1000 euro in a week of betting and thought I had cheated the system and can basically get unlimited money with this. Unfortunatelly I ended up losing it all and more in a few minutes on a train of 16 red's in a row. Good thing is that was a good lesson for me and i don't gamble anymore.

As a rule of thumb you should know that if flatbetting doesn't work, martingale won't work either. You either have an edge or you don't, changing your bet amount won't outsmart the math behind it.

This is basically the exact strategy I have used at the casino for blackjack for the last 4 years and it has worked out but it’s very stressful and not worth gambling to try and turn a profit. Also I found out that this strategy does not usually work in practice, after doing research on card counting I found out this strategy is not anything new and has been used many years before I ever thought of it and apparently it mathematically just doesn’t work out. Had worked for me but apparently just doesn’t work out in general.

Also one of his main issues in this example is he’s trying to guess the market, in blackjack there is a set strategy you always use and % chances are constant (if you aren’t card counting) in this example he’s trying to read market patterns. I have traded futures before (this website is very similar to that) the market is designed to loose the most money for the most amount of people. I promise you would have a better win rate if you just randomly chose the up or down bet without trying to read the patterns.

if a candle touches a support or resistance line you are supposed to wait for the next candle to see if it opens above or below that line if its below you go short if the new candle opens above you go long. simple
