I’ve known the HDR was better in every way since starting because of videos, and I’ve used it for a long time, and honestly the AX50 I just hit shots... I’m not sure why, I just hit quickscopes and tougher shots more consistently even with the lower stats. The HDR I just don’t and I’m not sure why.

Fako in my sbmm no one is running down middle of streets. So counter sniping is glitching with peeks, hitting someone full damage through a wall after the down means their teammates almost certainly cannot revive them. Having 100% damage from FMJ is only reason I would use a sniper rifle over the Kar98k. It being buffed and focus perk making it a viable all around primary for medium and long distance. Focus perk on a sniper is relatively unnoticeable though

As much as I try to like the HDR the AX50 just feels more intuitive to use. Not sure if it's the scope zoom or what but the amount you have to lead people and the bullet drop just feels natural and I don't really have to think about it. The HDR just feels worse for some intangible reason. The 50 also looks way cooler.

For me personally i just thought the Ax50 just feels better so I levelled it up to max and just played around with all the attachments for the gun and honestly it depends on what type of player you are as a sniper whether you want to put the variable zoom or just the default sniper scope but try to stay away from the thermal scopes because they just make sniping a pain in my opinion.

The reason I use the AX50 is because it’s more satisfying when you hit a shot. It’s more like how actual sniping is in real life having to judge the drop off and travel time. On the ax if you use the first unlock clean cross reticle (can’t remember name) at range you simply rest the base of the centre cross on their head and it one hits most the time. Then if they’re at normal range snipe like normal. It doesn’t seem to be gradual. I grinded warzone rumble to practice it and was hitting 15+ snipe only kills at range. sorry I was that guy at the back practicing 😂

To my preference the AX 50 is way better because the HDR just feels like you're holding a ship and I prefer how light the AX 50 feels in hand compared to the HDR also no one is actually going to pit the slowest attachments to each gun because it's just too much of a trade off with the scope in time so in most cases the AX 50 will scope in faster then the HDR with using the a monolithic suppressor with the lazer and ADS stock

I think the bolt speed could be a hair faster on the ax50 and you could consider them even. In real life a .50 cal is carrying three times as much kinetic energy as a .338 but the .338 is a faster, flatter shooting round.

I am a big fan of Stodeh. I started using sniper/marksman since April or May after watching Stodeh's first HDR video. I dont play wz too much, I got almost 10k kills using HDR in multiplayer. My setup is pretty much the same as Stodeh, I used 12x scope and champion stock. HDR has better range, damage, and less bullet drop(critical for longshot), but most people preferred AX50 in ground war. Personally, I would say the AX50 has better ADS(not that important in a big map) and sound. I am wondering what is your mouse sensitivity and DPI, if you are ok, could you please share?

The HDR is indeed the greatest of the two. But than i start playing the kar98 and it was a horrible way to main the bullet drop. But when u get used to the kar98, its definetly stronger as the HDR, even with the buff now. You can aim quicker en i can take 2 enemies down in the time an HDR player take one. Whats your opinion about the kar98? Its the most difficult sniper to main, but if you can main it, its stronger than the HDR? Only above 250 meter range, i prefer the HDR. Just as an aside, I know things scale differently in game, and however you slice it Stodeh's shots are still just cracked, but I've been reading about real world sniping and nine of the top ten longest recorded snipes are over TWO THOUSAND METRES, and the longest ever was 3540m. I don't think the Warzone map is actually that big in game! Imagine hitting that shot!

No way HDR zooms in faster than AX50 when built correctly. Correct builds for max range and ADS - HDR: Tac laser, ADS stock, monolithic, longest barrel, perk of choice AX50: Tac laser, stippled, ADS stock, monolithic , 32 inch barrel

That's not a bad HDR Class at all. I started off sniping with the AX 50 & switched over to the HDR. I feel in Love with the HDR & completely abandoned the AX 50. That bullet velocity is 2nd to none. I'm proficient with both & will soon be moving on to the other snipers & marksman rifles. Any tips for using the Marksman rifles as I have little to no experience?

AX-50 loadout: same as the HDR, but put on stippled grip tape too. That will improve the ADS a bit. I use the AX-50 because of the faster fire rate and higher zoom because a higher zoom means I can see my targets better and aiming a bit higher is no issue for me. Apart from the drop I didn't much notice the velocity difference. But what really killed me is that I could never win a sniper battle from lower ground using the HDR because I just never had to account for drop with it in any other situation and I just know the AX-50's drop better now. It's a preference thing.

A side by side comparison of the bullet drop would have been better to support your point. These clips you've shown, I have exact same plays but with AX-50. Even downing full speed chopper pilots. So watching sniping clips is a bit misleading on its performance.

For your use the HDR is clearly the best option, but for me who likes to close quarter with a sniper the AX is clearly my go-to. I am rocking the Singuard barrel, tac laser, sleight of hand, stippled, and finally the singuard stock. It is the greatest sniper loadout. I do enjoy the kar98k the most, but I guess that is a marksman rifle.

The AX50 loadout I really like is Mono suppressor Singuard Arms pro barrel Tac laser Singuard Arms Assassin stock Focus perk Definitely a class heavier on the ads than range but the quicker rate of fire can really help get multiple shots off in quick succession. Really effective while targeting teams who are on the move.

I think it depends on what games you main. I come from games like ARMA/dayz mod and pubg. It's not natural for me to aim directly at someone as with the HDR at distance. I always try to lead shots and account for bullet drop so the ax-50 suits me.

You always say a higher zoom means you have to aim further in front or above to get the same shot but I’m not seeing how that would work - a higher zoom should mean a smaller movement/distance is equivalent to more real distance when unzoomed, right? I definitely think the velocity alone makes the HDR worth taking over the AX50 almost always, but I don’t think the point on the higher zoom scope is valid

They should really make reticles so they follow the mil dots lile in Squad where theres even range finders on reticles of scopes that really help you when sniping or using the RPG7, or add a range finder like in BF4. I like Snipping while using the Dual Power Scope since default has too much zoom for close encounters, but reticle stays the same so theres no scaling :(

I tried both of them but for my opinion (because i don't like to composate for the bullet drop) i like the HDR better because even if that guy is 300m 400m or even 600m away i just have to aim just a little bit above his head and i will down him (but man i'm not a super marksman like u stodeh🤣)

It's about playstyle. If you want to snipe mid to long range then use HDR. Agressive sniping close-mid-long range i still prefer AX50 due to the fact that the stock scope is so much better than the HDR. I want to see if there are enemies from the sides while i'm scoped in.

What you don't understand about the ax50 is that it has a faster cycle rate. Having the same damage profile as hdr, ax50 is a worthwhile choice. They both have 1 hit headshots from any range. The hdr is just more noob friends because it's point and click. If you learn with the ax50 it can save you in so many cases solely because of that faster cycle rate.

Everyone uses the monolithic, but on snipers what's the point when there is no damage drop off at range. Wouldn't tactical or even lightweight be better to have improved ADS? The barrel I get due to the increase in bullet velocity, but as far as I'm aware, no velocity change with sniper suppressors.

Watching you and Jack snipe has helped me so much. For months I never could get a sniper kill. After the past few days of watching I got 12 sniper kills.

I think the hdr need a nerf. 300m headhots without aiming a bit higher. No bullet velocity under 300m it feels like hitscan. Snipers are skill weapons but for the hdr you dont need skill. All snipers need a bulletdrop like the ax50 and every player need to learn the snipers. But in warzone with the hdr every new player under 300m aim between the eyes on standing or mpving targets and the bullet hits between the eyes... every use the hdr because its the easiest sniper but i think no bulletdrop you need 2 headshots like the mk2 and if the weapon kill with one heashot the weapon definitly should have a bulletdrop. Ballefield, pubg, and all other ego shooters the snipers has bulletdrop but not in warzone the hdr i dont understand this. Its Ridicoulus because its a noob sniper and for the use you dont need a skill. Aim on head and fire. Boom headshot

Rytec with the last barrel has basically no recoil, so with the high fire rate it can do some damage.

@stodeh in your "how to snipe video" i would have loved to see what your PC ADS settings are like. Sensitivity, Multipliers...etc.
