I’m a trans woman, and I had to use the men’s restroom once because I still had a male passport, and I was posing as a “man” in an airport, to get into a foreign country. I did my best to look like a man for the flight. I walked into the men’s room at the airport and a guy immediately said “oh, sorry, miss!” …thinking he was in the wrong bathroom, and left. He came back 10 seconds later looking VERY disturbed. 😂

my friend still uses the female restrooms despite being trans (ftm) because they are legally a "female" still, but are on hormones and in the middle of their transition. one of the big problems is that they don't feel safe going into the male bathrooms yet, it really depends on situation and where you are at mentally. it also doesn't help that they have been sexually assaulted pre-transition so they don't feel the safest around men period.

Thank you. I've been struggling to understand this craziness of bathroom access. My viewpoint has been that if somebody who looks like my husband walked into a ladies washroom, claiming to be a woman, I would be upcomfortable. He's very masculine, very big, very hairy. To be honest, I think that the more you can pass as what you are transitioning into, the more likely you are to be accepted as such. Moustaches and beards do not allow you to pass. That's a decision that I think you would have to make in order to achieve mainstream acceptance. Just because you say you are a woman doesn't make you one. Passing is important, partly because it shows that you're not just in it for kicks, but are truly dedicated to making the transition. Anything less strikes me as a level of selfishness and the desire/need to be a spectacle. Like they're daring us to call them out rather than accepting them.

This one time I used the restroom in a Wawa and theyre sinks were out of order, so I used the men's room just to wash my hands, and some guy walked in and got so mad! I even explained that I was on my way out I was just washing my hands but he was pissed

It’s not the internet, it’s the different audiences. Blaire’s main audience is conservatives who believe that trans women should use the men’s restroom and the majority of outspoken people on this issue believe that ALL trans people should be able to go to whichever restroom they feel comfortable in. It’s not really the “internet” pin pointing Blaire, just different audiences.

@Complete Overdose Fun story for this, me and my friends went to the men's toilet on a night out because the line was shorter and completely forgot there would be urinals in there so were completely shell shocked to see men standing and peeing next to each other dicks in hand so ran back out. It's always a surprise they exist 😂

I’d usually go quickly past the urinals into the stalls” turning my head to the side saying: “sorry I really have to go, I promise I’m not looking”😂 Mostly did this at indoor/outdoor parties where the guys pee mostly outside anyways. At those parties there was literally sometimes a line of 20+ women in front of the women’s and half the stalls empty in the men’s restroom. I honestly never got a real complaint, a weird look here and there, but most guys said they wouldn’t stand there holding it either if there is an empty stall next door. They could just make it all unisex and put the urinals in the back, so you don’t have to walk past the urinals to the stalls, but past the stalls to the urinals. What if you have to assist someone of the opposite sex to use the restroom? Let it be a child/elderly/disabled/injured/intoxicated person... are going to go in their restroom or take them in yours?
