Not related to the product but i like how you speak slowly, you often don't say filler words giving your words more power

I’m a PhD student and I used this everyday for marking up PDFs which I am fully engaged with all day and night. This has saved my eyes because its screen offers no glare. It is of such light weight that I can carry it with me wherever I go. Your review suggested that the case may be overpriced, well, so is the tablet itself if you consider that it does much less than an iPad. However, it is particularly for this reason, that it is worth every penny. The new updates now allow me to underline and highlight text and the lines are automatically straightened. If I do end up printing hard copies of my notes, any colour I have chosen to use for the highlighting prints truly in those colours when I use a colour printer. When matched with the new Remarkable Type Folio, this is the perfect distraction free device I take with me wherever I go because I can still check email or google searches with my phone, if absolutely necessary. The handwriting experience is wonderful and I don’t need to spend a lot of money on Paperlike to make an iPad feel more like I’m writing on paper. Go on - take the plunge.

Thanks for sharing your experience with the remarkable. Spoiler: I ended up keeping it. I also appreciate the no-glare screen which is easy on the eyes. I can understand the price justification for a the remarkable notebook being a distraction free device just not the folios. I encourage those who are interested in the remarkable 2 folios to checkout eBay where you can usually find one for about half the price.

Very happy to have found your post. I’m starting grad school classes in May and I’m trying to decide on which e-ink tablet I should get. Glad it’s worked for you for annotating PDFs, as I can see myself using it for that constantly. Thanks!

I've had a huge interest in studying more theology, creative writing, organization, journaling, and sketching. So I took the plunge and even bought their pen and their keyboard. I bought a Franklin Covey and didn't like all the paper management. Bought a crap ton of notebooks and everything is disorganized. Looking forward to bringing some structure to my life with this invention.

I’m a resident doctor, and I spend most of my time studying. I’m a paper person, and I’m obsessed with taking notes, buying notebooks, and trying new pens. I started to think about transitioning to digital and using a tablet to write. I think the reMarkable is the only tablet that can fulfill my love of paper. I’m not sure if this experience will make me completely paper-free or if I’ll revert to using paper again, but I’m thinking of giving it a try. My only concern, besides the price, is the subscription. Is it still useful and good to use without a subscription? Do you think it can replace paper when you don’t have the monthly subscription?

I hear you, yeah there's something about writing on paper that just magnifies the note taking process. Thankfully in my opinion, reMarkable did a good job at capturing the traditional note taking experience while also making this device thin and lightweight like a notebook. As far as the subscription goes - many of those features allow you to unlock integration capabilities, like being able to integrate the reMarkable into other workflows such as uploading notes to Onenote, PowerPoint and so forth. I personally haven't used the subscription service since I purchased the notebook and have been enjoying using it as a distraction free note-taking filing cabinet. Hope this helps!

Good vid man! I'd recommend trying out the metallic tips if you want to get it feeling more like a pen and don't want to worry about changing the tips constantly. I'm putting out a rM3 wishlist vid today, huge fan of the remarkable series ... I've been a day 1 user. Also a quick tip, tapping with two fingers or three triggers an undo or redo, very useful!

Thanks man, great tips by the way. I was curious if there were any gestures built into the pen. I’ll have to check out your wishlist when we it drops. I too have some request.

Apologies I’ve been feeling a bit under the weather today, but one request I’d have is a better way carry around the pen with the remarkable 2 notebook. The magnetic ability is nice but not sufficient in my opinion.

They have a type folio that you can buy. I use it everyday. The boox has a light that shines in eyes I like the remarkable as there is no light and its easier on the eyes.

The only issue with other cases is many, not all have magnetics in them that distort the tablet and your writing, then you will have to demagnetized it. Just be careful with the non-rM cases but there are really good ones out there.
@jongreentech

I figured that some not having built in magnetics might be the case but didn’t think that demagnetization would cause an issue… interesting, I’ve just ordered one off of Amazon though so I’ll see how it goes.

I may have missed something here, it's a very good video, but the subject was using it for a day and the video was really an orientation to what the ReMarkable2 is? I was hoping to see how you used it in your workflow for a typical day as the subject of the video implied.

Hey thanks and I can see how one might think that. But that's actually a great idea... unfortunately for this video it was too soon to get a feel for how I'd use it in my day to day work/life flow but perhaps I'll include this insight in my 3 week or 1-month review :)
