I think the main reason that those people are "not trying", is 1) because it is low elo, so people have not build pvp mon's or they are newer players, or 2) because until rank 10, it doesn't matter if you win or lose in terms of ranking up, and if you lost a lot before you hit rank 10, you will be queued against worse opponents

The only time low ranked matches really get serious is when a new season rolls in and everyone's rank resets. It's only when you get around level that things really start to get heated. Edit: Level 20

hey mystic, its just 14 days for the season to end,mid ladder would be swarmed by bots or casual players who are just there for a stardust grab. It doesnt really get serious till around rank 18 by this time of the season. Its the early season when the ranks reset when lower levels have higher contention . (i had an ocd attack when i saw u level up the bad iv noctowl to battle please dont do that again :") )

I'm sorry, but this proves nothing. On lower levels the battles seem easy and many people throw (or even quit) their battles because you don't need to win everything to level up. But rank 19/20 is where the real push begins. That's where the algo also kicks in and tries to keep you at around 53% of wins, it will hard counter your team just to keep the balance. However there are no bots in the pvp, it only seems at those low levels because those players dont care about the meta, don't have double moved mons, don't know the switch/shield tactics at most times... So yeah, even thought i like your videos, i don't really like this one. To me it makes no sense to talk about meta before level 20, it will only help you rank up faster.

I was skeptical of the bot accusations at first but I kinda think he's right... Might be since it's late in the season the low ranks just have next to no player base. Either that or there are a bunch of children going with the auto-selected teams all the time. As someone who plays pvp a decent amount, the higher elo range does have a good amount of players

The auto-selected teams don't give you Pokemon so far below 1500, and it would be odd for people looking to throw the game to always scroll down to the 1100 CP Pokemon rather than either being lazy and just starting with what they offer or scrolling down to the 14 cps. I think they really must be bots.
