I’ll tell you what, I’m by no means a hardcore gamer but when I switched over from the base xbox one to the series s I was blown away on how quiet and fast it was! I would spend 1-2 minutes in the loading screens playing dead island 2 with my friends online but now it loads so fast and the graphics are beautiful. Why spend almost 4-500 on a series x when the s is just gorgeous in every way.

I love my Series S but the only thing I’m concerned about is that when I first got it, it sounded like a small piece of plastic or tiny screw was rolling around the casing inside. It doesn’t make that sound anymore and the console runs beautifully, but it has me worried.

When I got my first one I had my fan inside hitting something on the inside, I then returned it for a new one and it's been perfect since. I think it might because it's cheaper it might not have the same quality control or it uses cheaper parts.

I had the ps4 slim sitting in the closet until I found out about warzone in like the second year. My brother in law gave me a Samsung 4K 60 hz monitor which I hooked up the ps4 to. When the new systems came out I decided to get the Series s and it was an amazing improvement. Just like your story I upgraded monitor, bought a PS5 and even built my own PC because of it. The Series S definitely has had an impact in me returning to video games.

I bought my series s a few weeks ago and I love it before I had a ps4 and the graphics in games like halo infinite and forza horizon 5 are amazing definitely better than what my ps4s graphics looked like, a week ago I decided to get a 2 tb external hard drive for $60 since it was much cheaper than the expansion card and I was only able to afford the 512gb expansion card at the time but transfer speeds are very fast going up to 1gb a second and the load times are still better than on my ps4 and some enhanced games can still run on it along with the large amount of games that aren’t enhanced but still run and look great allowing me to take my library from less than 10 games (most were relatively small games) to 40 with 1tb left for even more games later on

The expansion card is about 50$ less than the series s which is 300$ the series X is 500$ original. So 500$ for series s plus expansion or 500$ for one console that may or may not perform to your TV's max

I'm playing resident evil 2 remake on the series s and I also have it on my ps4 but it's a bit too distracting on my ps4 with the fan while the series s is quieter than my ps4 in rest mode! Last gen consoles just are immersive breaking with late gen and cross gen games so the series s is an amazing system for games released up to 4 years ago (the taxing ones like anthem and re2 remake).

Literally Microsoft doing what they did with this system is what made scalpers not want to keep buying them out half a year or so in. Sony, the only difference their system offers is a disc tray and since 400 dollars is still least accessible compared to 300. If it wasn't for their choice in a hardware cut down then scalpers and covid would've swallowed next Gen gaming whole. Also a lot of the people who buy off scalpers are way less knowledgeable they'll buy a One X for 400-500 rn off market thinking its actually better than the series s because it has 4k they assume its gonna be like having the series x just cheaper than the 650 dollars people are charging for it. A lot of kids are getting overpriced One X systems instead of series x as well. It's all a shit show thank God fort the Series S.
