Or just realizing that with MOST tower defense games, you want to back load your towers. Start with towers only toward the end when you can get through the early waves easily. Then build toward the front as needed.

Suggestion for how to beat the Octobull. You need to have MASSIVE firepower (Cannons/Mortars) at second set of stations, not the first. An upgraded Medic Station with two Machine Gunners/Bazooka Men on the platforms can take down flying units AND distract them while still staying alive (as well as any grounded units that make it past your initial assault. Basically, the more separate targets you have for the Octobull, the more you can continuously attack, and the longer you have.

The bull is clearly spawning where the last tentacle fell. The tentacles also only grab the units in the water. Watching this was so hard.

You're halfway right. He grabs units on the rafts and land too. I played this level way more times than I showed in this video.

Concentrate your cannons on the middle 4 (should be able to get them all to level 2), rockets on the 2 closest to your base. When boss fight starts, sell the rockets and all the money you get from the first stage should be enough to get level 3 on a couple of the cannons. Focus on divers in front to stall and MGs on the 2 closest platforms. Dont try to win the level early, that just reduces the money you have for the boss fight.
