Actually they were like the 4th choice. We assassinated our first leader Kapodistrias. Then we wanted to get a British guy but in order to get him as our King he wanted for Greece to get bigger but the powers didn't agree They made us get a Bavarian guy which we kicked out and then we ended up with those Danes. We tried to kick them out like 4 times but we didn't succeed for long. So after an "unfortunate" war,3 military coups,a national schism,ww1 and the Greek genocide in Anatolia where 1.5 million Greeks were killed we decided to unite......🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣just kidding. We executed the pro-King government and made a dictatorship and then another one and another one and ww2 and a civil war and then another one and then 2 other ones and around there the King was kicked out.

Maybe he converted to Hellenism lorewise was because he saw the Norse gods as gods of Scandinavia only, and he wanted the protection and favor of the local gods! Not wanting to convert to Christianity, he instead took to the gods of the last large and successful empire in the area, the Romans! Perhaps he thought if he worshiped their gods, they would bring him similar success and glory!

Are you able to choose the Patron Gods tenet in Hellenism? If I was to reform Hellenism, my tenets would be Astrology, Esoteric, and Patron Gods. Oh, and if I was using that one mod that lets you have more, I would also add Adaptive, Mendicant Preachers, and Unrelenting Faith.

Much easier way to convert the required counties. Don't immediately convert to Hellenism when you can. Conquer as many Hellenic holy sites as you want, at least 3, and then give them over to people who really *really* like you, preferably like 100 opinion friends. Most important, you want these vassals to at least not be Zealous, and preferably they're Cynical, and they have to not have any other holdings so the holy site is their capital. When you convert, they'll inevitably convert with you, which instantly converts their capital province, the holy site.

Starting in Italy as an already hellenic ruler and trying to restore a hellenic roman empire is pretty fun. Just make sure to always swear fealty to the byzantines for easy access to the Greek holy sites.

Fun fact: Minoans were the first people to travel to Scandinavia in order to mine tin and copper. Extreme fact (rather a theory trown around) popular in occult events/theories/conspiracy theories: Scandinavia(S-candi-navia) Candi stands for Candia, a costal town in Euboia, an island close to Athens area. Navia stands for novel=new. (Typical adjective for rennaissance colonial empires naming their colonies) Which means that Greeks from Candia colonized Scandinavia and were mixed in with the indigenous population during the Mycenean/people of the sea era (1250bc-1100bc). So, according to the far fetched theory, Vikings (and in consequence modern Sweden, Norway, Denmark) are partially Greek. Wtf bro.
