To think the Queequeg was once on Ricardos level before she nerfed herself, but her harpoon still has a nasty swing to it, so i believe it. Now just wait until we meet her unnerfed in MD3 or even better ... the trio in our weekly mirror dungeons.

NOT trio. If Ahab retargets to buff Queequeg, you'll get skullfucked by 2 harpoons for a turn while not even being able to clash Ahab, AND if you fail to damage Quee I think she has some heal. Not to mention 5 coin buffed skills for Starbucks

4:47 don't forget that queequeg did only fight with her raw human strengh, also while being probably weakened by the palification, whereas the whole thing with the middle is that they have tatoos that greatly enhences their physical capacities, the higher the rank, the higher the enhencing. I bet Queequeg with her tats would have been even more brutal than Ricardo.

@NovaAeternus It doesn't really imply their rank difference. It's too vague a sentence to judge the entire hierarchy from. What it implies is that Middle could send 2 high-ranking officers instead of one. Besides, if you know Korean, their titles are a bit clearer since there are separate words for the oldest brother, the second oldest brother, etc. Big Brother and Big Sister are called "Smaller big brother/sister," while the Great Sister Ricardo mentions later has a different, greater title. Come back after another 4 months, with better evidence than that. Maybe we'll get info by then as well

@@roowdy6721 it does not imply anything like that, "a big brother or even a big sister would've come after you" brings a certainty that only one of them would come still feel women in the city are more powerful as they're usually the ones manifesting ego, but i may have jumped the gun over one line

Not only getting goosebumps from the ending but it also reminds us the meaning in Ishmael's icon. Her compass which was found in this Canto is us leading her to what she desires from her heart, and the rope hairband which is made by Queequeq to help Ishmael to survive. Queequeg was almost a big sister but she gave it up, escaped, tried to destroyed all those tattoos which might have disabled its ability, lobotomized herself and now couldn't speak normally. I wonder how powerful she could have been if she accepted it. + Taking away some b@#$h's purpose in life is always satisfying, but that hag survived and she's gonna be a pain in the arse (Literally from all the harpoons prenerfed) in the future for sure

Project moon reading comprehension at it's finest, Smee outright says that Queequeg is wanted by the middle for quitting 🥴🥴 (also 21:15 It wasn't exactly face of rage, moreso full of despair and fear for her life) (another note 29:25 Dante AUDIBLY says "ONCE WE GET PAST THIS ABNORMALITY-", my man i get the PM fan stereotypes but come on)

pretty sure ishmael just has short side bangs, so there's a bit at the front that's shorter (like more fringe, but longer) and then the rest of her hair long it's honestly pretty common in anime designs, hers are just so thick that it looks more segmented than usual

3:20 so i rewatched gebura's story in library of ruina quickly and she said all she remembered was crying alone in a ally as a child, but as fucked up as this is to say. anyone else wanne have the headcannon that the child in this story could be kali? High chance its not of corse, a 100 attrocitys happen daily in the city, but agian just a headcannon (and i never played L corp mutch so maby more info was given there)

So I was thinking about that story about the Middle and wanted to share my thoughts and what about makes them uniquely insidious. When the officer got his favorite clothes ruined… I don’t think he was the one who ordered the child’s family to be disappeared. And from what we saw from the uptie stories the more sins you get revenge for… the more powerful tattoos you get. To become part of the Middle is to have all slights against you become against the Middle. Because all of the members are snapping at the bit to get revenge. It basically cuts you off from all other non-middle members, because even the slightest mistake will cause the perpetrator to be torn apart like their a rare Mob in a MMORPG. Was just curious if anyone else walked away with that read

If I were to join any of the fingers it’d definitely be either the Middle or Thumb. The Thumb you just have to keep your mouth shut and be polite to make sure you don’t accidentally insult someone who you aren’t aware is your superior. And the Middle is just remember the shit people do to your family/fellow middle members and punish and transgressions (or pay them back if they help). The Index has the Prescripts which you have no control over and the Ring… well for being artists they have the worst drip among the fingers. Oh also they’re crazy and druggies.

The book of grudges may as well be a book of prescripts for all the control you have over the consequences of what gets written in it. All the Fingers are like this, all controlled by a dumb code that they can't ignore, have no idea where it came from, follow it even to their own detriment, etc. Kalo actually talks about not understanding the Index, but the point was that he's in exactly the same position, he just doesn't realize it.

This canto unironically shares some theme's and has some similarities with one piece both this canto and one piece have pirates both take place on a supernaturally dangerous body of water and most importantly both have a theme of dreams I wonder if this canto was partially inspired by one piece.

I love the why how they draw this. How theyre telling a fiction based on real life, especially that of S.Korea. Our society is practically based on unlimited competition, where everything is permitted as long as its legal. Mostly because we had poor past, and no natural resources, nor tech before so we had to squeeze everything to strive. Aheb basically represents the older generation who had to do so. No matter the cost, goal must be achevived. Even though it required sacrifice. But problem arise when they still request the unprivillaged to sacrifice for the greater good, just so a few privillaged could acheive their goals rather than everyone elses. They give you few gold coins for compensation, but it really doesnt mean much later. If you dont go crazy like them and refuse to work, you get eaten by that white shit, just as you would be branded as a loser and ignored by the society. Starbuck with his millitary uniform reminds me of Korean Vietnam vets. S.Korea sent largest garrison only second to that of US army. This enabled the President to open trade bargins with the US, while earning money. This greatly helped the economy, at the cost of many young lives. Ishmael represents the new generation. Those put into the grinder so only few survive, and those at the top (Ahab) telling them, 'if you think this is unfair, you should work harder to get to the top. But the trap lies there. This does not change the system. People get replaced, but not the system. Nothing changes in the end.

I mean, we're only seeing bits and pieces of Ishmael's time on the boat. For all we know, in between the flashbacks, they could have gotten ✨️quirky✨️ in the coffin.
