XISUMA! Those cases that are designed to be quiet sometimes have the opposite effect. This is because they have very restrictive airflow, which results in fans having to run at higher RPM and generate more noise. I would suggest picking a spacious, airflow-oriented case. Oversizing your cooling system can also contribute to lower fan noise. The "Gamers Nexus" KZbin channel is a great resource for reviews, comparisons, and overall best picks.

Another option to reduce noise is to change the fan speed curve. The default curves are usually overly aggressive.

Xisuma independently discovering Block 36 mechanics with his blast chamber🤣
@IainDoherty51
@IainDoherty51 3 ай бұрын
With regards to the blast chamber you just need to do something that shifts the output blocks into a more compact form and then uses a single TNT blast chamber and the Block 36 mechanics caused by precisely timing the TNT and the piston pushing into the chamber such that the blocks are hit by the explosion while moving. That would let you break massive amounts of them with very little issue
@xisumavoid
@xisumavoid 3 ай бұрын
It doesn't use block 36.
@BBSplat
@BBSplat 3 ай бұрын
@@xisumavoid I think that @lainDoherty51 is talking about the issue you had at 13:05, where more blocks were being blown up than you expected. When blocks are moved by pistons they temporarily become "moving piston blocks", previously with block ID 36, so it's often called "Block 36". One quirk of it is that moving blocks have *no blast resistance*. Because your TNT was blowing up the blocks exactly when they were being pushed, the explosion was able to reach further! By delaying the explosion by one observer tick, the explosions went back to exploding one row of copper blocks, as expected.

Also it's so cool that oxidised copper has such a dramatic effect on other copper oxidising, I remember before you started showcasing this that I thought it was just a rumour but it really makes a huge difference, and this farm with such a massive piston feed tape over everything looks so cool!! I'm intrigued that the copper robots are going to play a big part in the shop, the only thing I can think of with that is that Hermitcraft is going to get one of those mods that adds the additional mob vote mobs but that doesn't sound super Hermitcraft-y so I guess that's probably not it, either way I'm looking forward to whatever happens with that!

I may be wrong, but wouldn’t the copper aging be slower if you’re recycling the copper that hasn’t aged, especially the copper that hasn’t aged at all? I’m not sure but I don’t think the copper NBT is stored as to how long it’s been being aged for, so wouldn’t recycling it reset that “timer” and make it take longer?

I cant speak for everyone, but ive heard some hermits say its for video production reasons. A completed build (with all copper aged) looks way better in thumbnails, time lapses etc. And copper aging in plage (with all the other unaged copper nearby) ages slower, so letting the copper age in place will make the total time spent on making a hermitcraft video longer.

No TNT duping isn't banned but gravity block duping is. Some Hermits such as Tango are against TNT duping, but it's not otherwise banned. Take Docm's tunnel bore for example. The difference is that you can't obtain TNT with a TNT duper, whereas duplicating gravity blocks is giving large amounts of those gravity block - some Hermit's also follow redstone tutorials and aren't redstone savvy enough to know how to convert a duper from the tutorial into a manual yet timed TNT dropper.

Intel CPUs are sadly mini space heaters as Intel is just pushing more power through to keep up with AMD at the moment. If you're technically minded enough to know you way around your BIOS you could give undervolting a shot to lower CPU temps. There's also messing with the power limits. Intel had a whole big controversy where they didn't really give out good specs for their power limits so a lot of motherboards set them as high as possible while still being technically being "in spec". You might want to update your BIOS and see if you can set things to being in the lower power profile. Some motherboards were running Intel CPU at 300+ watts while the "default" profile is supposed to be more around 125 watts with a 250 watt turbo boost. If your CPU is running really hot it might be in one of those boards that pushed extra power through to look better in benchmarks.
@0xD15EA5E
@0xD15EA5E 3 ай бұрын
Hi X. If your fans are ramping up too much, I recommend undervolting your CPU slightly. Generally speaking the newer generations of Intel CPUs use much more power than they need to in order to try and squeeze out as much performance as possible. Undervolting your CPU by as little as a few hundred mV could reduce temperatures enough to stop your fans spinning so loudly, without sacrificing much performance (probably less than 3% of overall performance). KZbin comments aren't the place to give an in depth tutorial on undervolting but there are a few resources on it online and I'm sure you can figure it out on your own anyway.

Xisuma I was wondering if you could use the new 1.21 feature of the end platform regenerating and breaking 3 blocks on top of them as a method of breaking aged copper

On the audio issues. If you make sure your next cpu is an amd cpu, you should be fine. Intel’s cpus just do get over 120c

Huh. I guess the minecraft wiki was wrong. Oxidized copper DOES speed up other copper

21:55 Don't worry about changing the delay of the TNT for the blocks that are still dropped on the water. Just add more hoppers 😅

I'm late to watching this but look into undervolting your graphics card, that's the main culprit for heat production. I have recently had to do this because my card was running at 83c under load and by undervolting it its now running at 53c under load and it makes a massive difference to the ambient temp of my room and it means that the fans are running overtime to try and cool it down

I rarely notice audio changes but the clarity in your voice this episode was really profound. Youre sounding good! I didn't notice the cpu sounds at all :)

If you have another room nearby your recording room or you can poke a few holes in the wall, water cooling the computer and putting an external radiator with long hoses to the next room (or just a really large radiator so it's quiet even when under full load) would make the PC almost silent. The benefit of exhausting the heat to another room is your recording area stays a nice temperature even after a long time.

Man these bots suck, but I even I have to admit that's kind of a hilarious feature for them to code in

during the clip on 17:05 the background noise is pretty noticeable, but the clip after is completely fine! Overall I like the extra depth in the audio, just have to get used to it :)

*cough* um Xisuma… that’s not the correct Golem. It was the Copper Golem that lost the mob vote. You said Iron Golem. 😛

what if the 2 x TNT do not explode at the same time? -edit- nice you did actually end up doing that, plus more stuff, and that looks nice!!!

I noticed at the first moment how great and lively this mic sounded! I know you mentioned it possibly interacting poorly with your fan noise, but I would love to see more with this mic.

isn't the second tnt blowing up blocks because they're set off on differing sub-ticks? or do they still blow up if theyre on the same sub-tick

if you have the space move the pc further away from microphone,make inverse square law work for you, some longer cables are a cheaper investmenr than quieter fans and other fancy bita

Why not just have the water run back under the copper, away from the explosion?
