I was just thinking Americans would probably say “do you know what time it is” 😂 I had a really good friend who lived down the street and we would call each other when our kids went to bed and she would come over (in pajamas) for a cup of tea and biscuits and we just relax and unwind for the day. Is the school very far so he can’t come home everyday? I was also worried that Anzai may feel neglected or unloved especially given there’s a newborn at home (baby sister can stay home with parents but he can’t and he may not understand why). He’s pretty young to be boarding too.

@@bethbaker2519 according to the conversation between rose and her friends, no the school is not far from home. The reason Anzai’s boarding is coz they want him to get used to it before going to middle school(in the town, not village where they are). By that time he will be obliged to do so. And it’s mentioned “as a practice to be independent”. I’m afraid I cannot agree with that. Born as a 1980s in china, our parents somehow get used to make it as an “of course” reason, push us to face some circumstances which really hard for us to manage, as our age that time. Not a pleasant memory at all. That’s why I swear I will never let it happen on my own children, also a reason why I spoke out for Anzai
