So much yoshi eye tech in one video - I can’t believe you’d hide this from the community
@BakingSoda4U Жыл бұрын
Even if you were "hiding" tech from others, does it matter? Armada himself admitted there was stuff he and other people among the gods of his era were aware of that they did not reveal publicly (techwise) because otherwise, the meta would change "dramatically". That was like 6 years ago or so, and in the meantime, a lot of stuff has been discovered, perhaps what they were keeping to themselves was among the "newly discovered" tech. You have no duty to anyone but yourself, king. Just keep being the best and share your secrets with whomever you might want to (or not).
@arcaninety Жыл бұрын
i've thought about this for a while. my read on Armada is that he was always keenly aware of DJL, hyper/subfloats, autocancel dj fair, all that--but for his own reasons, just didn't see them as viable (or too risky). You can even see him do a float NIL > shield from the ledge vs a knee from Jeapie at a Syndicate (i think it was a Syndicate?) i'm like, 80% sure of this--and i can't help but notice the 'irony' when i hear newer players call his Peach ""outdated""

The second they would use the technique it would no longer be secret so there’s really nothing to be mad about😂 like, just study the vod😂
@BakingSoda4U Жыл бұрын
@@surfingraichu7594 Most people wouldn't be able to catch that up due to how fast the game is. Nevertheles, amsa is a kind dude: the moment he realized V-cancelling was an actual tech, he made it public (he had no reason to do so but he did anyway). Discord is just full of crybabies who can't understand that you don't become the best by uncovering every single thing you know. I'm pretty sure this applies to Ultimate pros as well.
@SungFu Жыл бұрын
In my opinion, it goes against good-natured competitiveness and the betterment of the community. It's not worth hating someone for, but it would a little lame considering that aMSa is the sole representative of Yoshi at the top level and every single Yoshi player looks at him for guidance and inspiration. It's absolutely a matter of perspective, but I wanted to offer mine.
@BakingSoda4U Жыл бұрын
@@SungFu It's a valid perspective and as I said, I highly doubt he's the kind of person that'd do that, given what he did once he realized v-cancelling was a thing. Then again, I believe it woudn't be morally wrong for him to keep knowledge to himself, either, due to the nature of competitiveness you just brought into account.

@justsomeguy7042 Жыл бұрын
I feel like the winks could be useful in edgeguard situations. But the frame window is very tight so it might be difficult to do it consistently. The wink tech could definitely bump Yoshi up to top 3, maybe just behind Fox and tied with Marth.

Nowadays you know what they're doing, but not necessarily why or what they're looking for. To RTC you need to know what the reactable tech frames look like. There's so many subtle situations to recognize in Melee and people may need assistance interpreting what's relevant when implementing tech.

I called Slime out immediately for that BS claim about aMSa. You can find my comment in the original VOD (I don't remember the match, but I believe it was one during the final Summit). Slime LOVES to hear himself talk and always goes out of his way to make himself feel important when he has the mic. I have found that guy to be annoying since the day he rammed his way into the commentator booths. His association with Ludwig is the only reason people know who he is.

yeah IDK what that person's talking abt with the discord like I'm never on and last time I was there was a pretty recent post but like hiding tech is a given in competitive stuff anyways lol. if stuff was revealed that's being worked on for a tourney itd make it less effective. and recent tech is still relevant for mixing people up. having time to pick like some magic sweet spot sounds like a pain tbh. life is absurd!
