😎 It's cool af. We don't get those here. I was hoping you'd show the bed too 😅 looking forward to the next one Will 👍🏽 Thanks for sharing.
@WillChang11 ай бұрын
Thanks so much! Ah you're right, I meant to show everything including the bed but I guess it slipped my mind while recording. I had a bunch of stuff in there too so it would've been good to show how much it can fit but oh well!

Great truck dude!! I got the 06 Tacoma manual transmission and 4x4, what a great pickup. I love it!! I’ve been waiting to see your vids again!! Are you going to still posting vids of your XRS??
@WillChang11 ай бұрын
Thank you man! Gotta love the Tacoma, my personal favorite gen is the 3rd gen but I love all of them! And I'll be working on the XRS in the next video, the project never ends!
@BrenoAutoGarage11 ай бұрын
Awesome! I was in a similar boat when I got an ‘05 Tacoma V6 4x4 year and a half ago. In hindsight you got the better truck, more versatile. I was too focused on MPGs, not considering gas doesn’t matter if I hardly drive it! It towed 5,100lbs just fine (UHaul trailer + Toyota Matrix), but the Tundra is another level. Though if you do make it to a million miles the 5mpg difference might outweigh that lol. Really nice work on the interior. I usually prefer orange or red, but that gauge cluster just sets it off.
@WillChang11 ай бұрын
Thank you! If I hadn't found my Tundra at the price and location I did I could definitely have seen myself getting a Tacoma. After all, 10k towing capacity and 5.7 V8, although fantastic, is certainly more than I need! The gauge cluster is easily my favorite change I've made, the second I found out that swapping it was plug and play I knew what I had to do!

Can you share the link to replace the door window switches. I have a 2011 Tundra that I would like to upgrade the switches to the ones you showed. Also, I have an 08 Corolla that I've been looking for some DIY upgrades. Thanks for sharing your ideas! This is a great channel!

I have a feeling a grandpa owned it before you... On account of how well kept it is. My grandpa kept his 87 GMC sierra mint.. cleanest truck in town 😆👍

I wouldn't be surprised, although based on the previous name on the title it might've been a grand-ma instead!

Congrats on the new truck, hope its treats you well! I’ve been meaning to ask tho on where you got the 50/50 style taillights for the corolla xrs, I’ve been looking for a pair but the one ones i see are from the same seller on ebay that i don’t trust, would be much appreciated for the info.
@WillChang11 ай бұрын
Thank you! I'm planning on putting it to use for many more years to come! Here's the link to the taillights I bought, also from ebay: www.ebay.com/itm/184348023748 They've been pretty good to me so far, no issues since installing them in 2021!

VSC off is overdrive off? I think my Corolla has that, when I turn off overdrive when going up mountain - has more torque.
@lomfmur11 ай бұрын
VSC is vehicle stability control, irrelevant to overdrive

Dude here in California we don't use salt for our roads... we use sand.... we have absolutely no issues with rust at all. The frames and bodies rot due to salt on the roads and not spraying off the underside of your vehicle after snow season.. so bud now you know California has no rust issues. Only erosion issues if you live directly on the coast.
@drivedb711 ай бұрын
If you’re referring to 3:19, what he said was exactly that. In CA, 30-year-old trucks can still look essentially new underneath. Will’s frame looks like what a brand new truck’s frame would look like after one winter in the midwest. It’s very clean.
@WillChang11 ай бұрын
Yep! Gotta make sure to wash the salt off the first chance you get, must be nice not having to deal with that in Cali!
@WillChang11 ай бұрын
@@drivedb7 I was real surprised at just how clean this thing was underneath! When I went to check it out I was expecting it to have quite a bit more rust, I was shocked at how rust-free everything was - even the spare wheel is almost completely untouched!

I work on these every once in a while and they are superb trucks, I have to say pray that you dont have to replace the water pump
@WillChang11 ай бұрын
I've heard that water pumps and alternators on these are quite the nightmare to replace! Although since I'm planning on driving this thing to the moon and back twice over I suspect I'll need to service those at some point!

Nice find! $25k truck where I live at least!
@WillChang11 ай бұрын
And that's why I knew this was too good of a deal to pass up, even in this area a 4x4 full size pickup is certainly not under $10k normally!

Also if that engine uses a timing belt I would replace that and the water pump while your there.
@WillChang11 ай бұрын
It's got a timing chain so won't have to worry about that! Although I do expect that at some point in the (hopefully distant) future that the chain will need to be serviced or replaced, nothing lasts forever after all!
