Thanks Tom! I've done a few recent lessons on fills to soul songs. Here are a few: - Hendrix/Mayer Chords: kzbin.info/www/bejne/fonKloaLmL1oaqs - Slow Dancing in a Burning Room: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qJTNfYuIm8lgj7s - Tired of Being Alone: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rGO9hH6ppNxjY6s - Sara Smile: kzbin.info/www/bejne/nqWVaniuar2VnMk And there are quite a few in this playlist to check out. Riff of the Week: kzbin.info/aero/PLSVfUQKkNUqYT-tbd_qzgoWub_1M2cwA8 I'll keep doing the fills and other soul songs too. I'm a huge fan of the genre ever since I got to play in a Motown band in the mid 1980s. Thanks again. I'll certainly post more!

Thank you for this lesson. I've sung this song with a band, now I can do it myself on my guitar. I love the challenge of these great barre chords, my hands have a little bit of arthritis but I will continue to practice. Thanks again.

Thanks Doug. Hope you can avoid the hand pain on this! Barre chords get easier and easier over time.

I have a hard time hammering with bar chords. Any tips?
@MarkZabel4 жыл бұрын
A few things can help. Try what's below. 1. If you're using an acoustic guitar, switch to electric 2. Change to extra-light strings. 3. Don't barre. Play only strings 4, 3, and 2 (D, G, and B) as alternative to barre chords. 4. Practice doing it with barre chords 5 minutes (but not 10) each day to build stamina.
@afreenchowdhury54744 жыл бұрын
Mark Zabel I’ll try these things. Thanks so much!

Or use your pianist. Seriously, your tips are dead-on, Mark. Also, great lesson, there, man!

Thanks. Yes, although in the end you should learn how to play like you! Enjoy and have a look at some other videos. Maybe you'll like them as well.

Steve didn't add any "shake": Fender tweed Harvards only had volume and tone; that's it. He only used the bridge pickup. G&L ASAT Classics tend to be brighter than Teles due to the pickup magnets and bridge saddles. Good vid though!

@@MarkZabel Here's a little more inf. In the studio, S.C. used Gibson E-340 strings, gauged .012-.056 replacing the wound G string, with a second plain B. string.

I think you gonna love that version. It's our (I'm from Poland) little legend of the 20th century. Although he lived during the communist era, he created timeless music and played a little in the west. Peace! ☯️🎼🤍 kzbin.info/www/bejne/anWsfXugpdJshNU
