I am on the Board of the Book Readers Association. I reviewed your Husband's complaint. The Board did discuss the issue and we recommend that perhaps you should read a few short stories. I have been reading Edgar Allan Poe and the few that I've read are very short. I filed the complaint for future reference. P.S. we all had a good laugh! -James, Head Librarian Book Readers Association.

LOL James you're so funny. The book I'm reading is cery short. I should have finished it in a day or two. But life! And interruptions. Are you enjoying Edgar Allen Poe? I remember reading a lot of his work in high school. One of the English teachers I had, I think it was 11th grade liked darker works of literature.

@@Littlebiglibrary I did see your haul when you acquired Poe. I'm glad you're enjoying him. I need to read more of him. But first, I must find the books. In the meantime, I will watch your videos and enjoy them vicariously. =)

Hi, hello and don't feel too bad we've all been there! I just finished Undaunted Courage last night after starting it in September and just in time too, my library loan was going to be due today. Thanks for sharing and take care out there! Tell Sadie that Jill says hello

Hi, hello~ I didn't feel too bad until my husband started harassing me. LOL I told him he should buy me more books. My logic: I unhauled over 200 last year and I don't remember what I'm up to now, all for moving. But since we'll be here at least another four years.... 📚📚🤷‍♀ oooh, Undaunted Courage looks good. Was it good? If it is, I'll add it to my goodreads and wishlist. is your library close? I have one that is close to me, so if I cut it close like you almost did, I can get it to the library in time. The main library is about a twenty min drive from us. Ahhh, thank you. My old girl is asleep, but I'll whisper to her. Give Jill a hug from us.

How many books has he finished? LOL I haven't had much time to read. Hurricanes, bee stings, yard work, housework, feeding people. Responsibilities, every day. LOL I wouldn't know what to do if I had a life of leisure. I'm really loving Oliver Twist. Somehow I've never seen a dramatization of it anywhere all these years so I knew nothing going in except it was about an orphan. I love that. (The reading concept not that there are orphans) The book you are reading sounds interesting. Off to feed more people.

Did you get stung? yes, you understand the daily life that gets in the way of reading. I would love a life of leisure. I'm glad you're loving Oliver Twist. LOL I knew what you meant about the concept, not the orphans. English language is funny. I just finished ch 7 of my book and bawled by eyeballs out.

@@BookZealots it's yellow jacket mating season. I was stung twice and my husband, once. They are gone now, but I'm apparently highly reactive. I cry my eyes out with books too! My husband thinks I'm an oddity. (I am but not because of that!) Now I'll have to find that book.

@@BookZealots definitely something going on with the dog food (even the more expensive brands). Switched to giving them half raw and kibble and noticed a big difference in the dogs behavior and hair. Noticed there was a problem when the pack started having allergies, everyone insisted it was due to chicken but I'm not so sure. B.R.A agents are on their way, have your paperwork ready!

@@BookZealots he started limping. I thought my Dalmatian had hurt him. She was a wild child. The vet diagnosed bone cancer and wanted to amputate his back leg. He was already 11 years old so I didn’t put him through all that when the vet thought he would only live maybe a year. I treated him with pain pills till I had to let him go. He raced till he was 5 and he was very mistreated. He was a gentle soul and it tortured me that he suffered at the end. I promised him a good life.

It was a fun read - the 2nd book in the Restorationists series by Carolyn Leiloglou. "Fantasy in our world" where a small number of people can enter into and travel through paintings. Good guys overcoming bad guys, light faith, good morals and lessons learned. In the back, there is a list of all the art mentioned throughout for easy reference. I like how it introduces kids to art in an exciting way. One of my top reads of the year happens to be a middle grade by Irene Hunt, Across Five Aprils. Have you read it? It is an absolutely stellar "nutshell" presentation of the complexities and nuances surrounding the American Civil War. I think you might appreciate it.

@@ThisLittleLightLife That art fantasy booksounds really cool! I'm going to look at art so differently now. Wondering what kind of life can be had inside the painting. What a great way to teach children about art. yes, we have read and I think we kept Across Five Aprils. It's most likely with the old school curricula. Maybe I can re-read it for Middlegrade March in 2025. =)

Oh, that's bad. Even I have finished a few books this month and I'd normally expect you to finish three for every one book I finish. And yours are usually thicker and of a higher reading level. So, maybe you've been doing too much yard work. That's probably the problem. You can tell your husband it isn't your fault. ... in other news, we've got colder weather too. It rained last night.

Linda, I don't read that much. I did finish a small book today though. We have been busy with yard work. I'm REALLY looking forward to winter this year and no yard work. I also got sick after I cleaned out the dog kennels. I read very little. I felt like a first grader reading super slowly. I saw the weather report for the U.S. and it looks like a warm weather front will come through. Is that true for your area? We're expecting hot weather for two days and then dropping again. Was the rain much needed? I started The Great Bridge today and will power through to finish it this month and do some videos on it.
