did they implement the speech robot feature? as well as microtuning tables and midi modes?

I don't know about the robot stuff, but it has very advanced microtuning tables.

Thank you :) No, I haven't tried the M yet. Have you worked on it?

I just sold my Microwave. I could never become friends with the envelopes. They never do what you think they should.

Indeed - trying to force the MW1 to do exactly what you want is very hard. My approach when making sounds for it is to keep an open mind and follow where it wants to go.

@@ThePlughugger I am a huge fan of wavetable synthesis. I had the MW1 and Sounddiver with it. It was a lot of fun creating your own wavetables. Unfortunately, you can't import your own wavetables or waves in the MW plugin. They forgot that with the PPG 3.V and Largo. You can see that Waldorf can do that with the Nave.

Microwave seems to have the aliasing digital goodness with the low-end heft of analog. It is quite unique in its tone. Does it have all the bells and whistles of mod sources and destinations of eg Pigments? No. But simplicity is the source of inspiration.. And classic tones endure.. Yoad Nevo on sonictalk spoke of adding noise and stereo spreading techniques as an insert after such plugins, as ways to to emulate the DA converters. Would be better if they supplied more controls there, aliasing, noise, like they captured those sloppy envs.. I just hope this is a new venture from Waldorf, a series of plugin versions of their classics. Would love a Q soft synth from Waldorf! And a Blofeld. And maybe even eg an Iridium in the box, like what Korg and Arturia do, producing software synths versions of their current hardware range. In the same way that eg Arturia CS80V generated interest in Yamaha CS80 hardware units, it would be profitable, I believe. Completely with you on your outro summary Carl 👍 “Do one thing, and do it well” 👌

You will actually be able to get the real mw2 running on a Motorola chip emulator soon which is 1 2 1 identical, I already have the beta. This is probably rather waldorf trying to recreate as close as possible their legacy hardware.
@ThePlughugger3 ай бұрын
The Motorola emulation is absolutely fantastic. I am really happy to see developers making sure cloning this for future-proofing. That being said - Microwave 1 is not Microwave 2. MW1 is based on older tech and sounds different.
