I heard a quote one time that said "clothes are meant to fit you, you're not meant to fit clothes." The size doesn't matter, how the clothes feel is what does.

I really appreciate how you share when you fall off the calisthenics journey and regress in what you can do. It makes us beginners feel less bad for falling off due to life getting in the way and inspires us that even experts can fall off sometimes and it's natural and we can start over again.

I really appreciate you describing specific 'traits' or instances of your body dysmorphia. It sort of helps put it into perspective for me as well. Also, for years listening to you speak about your body in a way that puts emphasis on your ability rather than its appeal has been incredibly healing. And you do it in a really realistic way where your body image issues or self doubts are just matter of fact and something everyone deals with. that it's not a real reflection of your value. that the most important thing in life is your experiences and the love you give and the happiness you have and inspire in others. You are very healing for women like me. Thank you for everything Lucy!

I've just found you. I love your honesty about how life gets in the way of our best intentions to be consistent about training and taking care of ourselves! I've let a knee injury derail me for months but not exercising has made it worse. I'm getting back on it with your calisthenics programme.

Glad you’re feeling happy and healthy! I can relate to the not being able to gage size. I often feel very fat and realize a few days later that my body was just a bit swollen or out of sorts from lack of sleep, poor diet, or hormones. I also think that that “fat feeling” sometimes comes from muscle loss. I’ve struggled for a long time with eating disorders, so I’m definitely hyper aware and something like my old clothes not fitting would upset me a lot (in fact it has quite recently). Kudos to you for remaining grounded and mentally flexible! ❤️ Also, I think it’s pretty normal to not be strong right before your period…On another note, this is slightly random, but as somebody interested in health and nutrition who’s also a foodie, you might enjoy looking up Dr. William Li. He’s a doctor and research scientist who studies the bioactives found in foods/plants which help to fight disease and excess body fat. He’s written two books, there are loads of interviews with him, and he also has his own KZbin channel. He has a very engaging manner and I like his approach which feels life affirming rather than scaremongering.

I can’t believe the audacity of strangers to comment on a womans weight. It’s completely normal for weight to fluctuate a bit in our lives, especially if there’s stuff going on, ie mental stuff, illness, A new partner, new job, becoming a parent etc etc.

This video was so refreshing to watch! ❤️ Just a side note… I’ve had to take Iron supplements for years for anemia caused by heavy periods. Ferrous Sulfate is the most common formulation, and it gave me incredible stomach pain and nausea/vomiting when I took it. I switched to ferrous gluconate and had absolutely no problems with it (except for crazy dreams). You might have better luck with a different iron formulation… just thought I would share in case this helps ❤️

I relate to the title because I've gained some too. I was doing well for so long and then I started emotionally eating due to something that happened earlier in the summer. I hope I can get back to what I was several months ago because it's so difficult when you're still a beginner. Thank you for being real in this video and for the reminders. Also is your cat a Ragdoll by any chance?

Hi Lucy ❤.. Have you ever tried Methotrexate for your psoriasis? My doctor prescribed it to me for 4 months and it's all cleared now 😊.. Love your new apartment!

Hey, no I haven’t but I’ve had a very long journey with my skin and various treatments (touch wood) I’m now medicine free and it’s not really bad enough to consider going back on medicine right now. I’m super happy to hear your skin is clear, I know how much of a difference having control of the condition is and its impact. Thanks so much for the suggestion!! ❤️❤️❤️

I think the "problem" or thing is that being thin is associated with different things (beauty, attractiveness) and is connected to sometimes prestige, validation and praise, acknowledgement.... That's why people seek being thin. However, I do believe that being healthy and eating with balance is important and that being overweight is not healthy and associated with joint pan and health implications. Eating disorder do definitly mess up things and cannot be underestimated and require treatment. Treat yourself with grace and compassion, care for your body with nutritious food knowing you only have one body until the end of time ❤, but at the same time enjoying life and not stressing and obsessing. I knqo it's easier said than done 😂❤😊

don't stop taking the iron, build up from a small dose and take it every other day. it just takes time for you stomach to get use to it.

You're beautiful and inspirational, as always! 🥰 Your videos have been an important part of my weight loss journey. Especially the advice about being ok with taking it slow. Have you ever heard of how the hormone Insulin affects our weight loss/gain? This has been a HUGE breakthrough for me on my weight loss journey as well! Insulin stores fat. The lack of it burns fat! (Who knew? I'm only just now hearing this for the first time in my life!) It's less about how MUCH we eat and more about how OFTEN we eat (especially high glycemic load carbs). I've been slowly making my way through the videos @InsulinIQ. This video is a great starting place! kzbin.info/www/bejne/oYrbgYqQpapjmJI If the stress of moving has caused you to eat more frequently or to eat more carbs, that may have had an impact. You're young and active, though, so your body can tolerate more carbs for now. As we age (I'm 10 years ahead of you), this gets more difficult. But the more fats I eat, the more satiated I feel and I'm able to eat fewer carbs. This helps me go longer between meals, so it lets my insulin come down and I can burn more body fat after the dietary fat is used up. I follow @AutumnBates for tips!
