I've got a wax doll to restore by owl post! / ASMR unintentional

Hi everyone and welcome to my channel, today I'm restoring a wax doll! They are super rare, as wax is quite a fragile material, so only a few have survived. I believe she originates from Germany, unfortunalely I havent' found any info about her original look, so this time I let my fantasy flow. I've decided to make her a Scottish witch and created a milk thistle inspired outfit for her) Hope you'll enjoy this video!

Иногда кажется, что лучше соскоблить все растресканное и сделать новое гладкое покрытие, тем более, что у Вас прекрасный талант скульптора. Но, наверное, по правилам реставратора надо сохранить все, что можно сохранить? Этому тоже надо учить начинающих любителей. Вы - как легендарный Страдивари, который не только писал музыку, но делал скрипки, разбирался в породах дерева, клеях, лаках. Слышал их! Ваша чудесная мастерская - настоящий дом АЛХИМИКА. Невероятно приятно смотреть ролики, сделанные на очень хорошем режиссерском уровне. И это почти без звука! А оторваться невозможно!!!

Покоряют не только старинные приспособления - молоточки, ножички, ступы, приспособление для плиссировки, миниатюрные кнопочки, шпунтики, и т.д. Паровой утюжок прекрасен! Но вот как сделать такой изумительный кукольный интерьер - это моему пониманию недоступно! Книга - ладно!. Есть ролик, где Выделаете такие книги вручную, с иллюстрациями! Наверное, даже посуду можно где-то найти. Но кукольная керосиновая лампа! Это чудо чудное, диво дивное! Где, когда, кто их изготавливал?! СПАСИБО ЗА РОЛИК!!!

When I was small (as opposed to now when I think I'm big) my mother read me a story about a little girl who received a dolly as a gift. The doll was made of wax. The little girl would not let her younger sister hold the dolly, even for a little bit. The little sister persisted and the older sister, in a fit of temper, thrust the dolly into a cupboard. It was too warm in the cupboard and the dolly melted. So nobody benefitted from the older sister's selfishness and the doll was ruined. I always wondered about a doll made of wax. Watching your lovely video I now understand how they were crafted. Thank you for helping me to understand the story even better, about a doll made of wax. About 65 years later.

... when you took the doll out... and removed that first piece from her... I gasped! A wax doll! The camera can't do justice to the translucency of the wax... how it really looks like skin! They are so rare now. I have only seen them in museums. Thank you for letting us into your workshop to watch the magic, as you bring this lovely girl back to her glory. Well done!

10:00 This caught me off guard lol, I was half asleep and thought I was seeing things, what a nice touch ! So far this seemed to be the most complicated type of dolls to repair that I’ve seen, a lot of heating and peeling processes required, but your patience definitely paid off !! Great work 💗💗

The face really felt like a moment of trusting the process with the face; it had a moment of looking strange, but after being painted, adopted a pleasant and vaguely aloof look. Isobel is very cute! Maybe this is a weird thing to say, but I feel like it would be oddly special to be able to touch her clothes? Most of the fabric you used was antique/of its time and I imagine it has a completely different look and feel to its modern counterparts.

This was beyond beautiful. The process was fascinating, and your skill is amazing. She is such a lovely doll, and so deserving of her Scottish "makeover". She is a bonny Highland lassie now.😊 . The goffering iron you used to pleat the silk is a small version of the one my mother operated when she worked as a launderess. It was used to place the pleats and frills on the linen nurses caps from the local hospital, whose uniforms my mother had the care of. I wish she could see your lovely videos... she would be enchanted 😊❤❤ Thank you so much.
