Me and my mate camped on the beach for new years several years ago here in New Zealand (Herbertsville beach). Admittedly we had a light tent, but it was a thoroughly awesome experience! We lit a camp fire, sunk a few beers, cooked up some sausages, then walked to the local pub to see the New Years in. Next day, we spent the day surfcasting. This is an experience that will always stick with me.

just happened to come across your channel, camped a few times just out on camping mat and bad a few times on dartmoor, when its been super hot day and warm night with a full moon on dart more a few times, one of those where you have the whole camping gear with you but decide to sleep really wild, nothing like moonlit bathed dartmoor with that eerie glow to everything and yet its almost like the sun is out when its so bright and everything has shadows as if its the day time, live in plymouth so the moors and coast is my playground also

I totally agree with you on the campfires, the grass is like straw now, where I live we have fields for miles, and I walk to the woods near me (like a 5K walk) every other day, and when I walk there across the fields, there are new patches of 10m by 10m areas of charred grass where people have lit fires, and I just wonder how lucky it was that it got put out, it is actually appalling that people have no common sense or no care.

@@LoveSundays you are welcome. Back in 1994 it really was a adventure, me and my friend had just some blankets and a fishing rod each and a rediculous oversized gas camping stove and of all the places we chose to sleep we chose the rocks on the left hand side of the beach and that was home for 3 days and 2 nights, i still visit that area and its one of the few places that has not changed in over 30 years.
