Hey, I’ve just installed the windows on my van, and am looking for the best installation solution. As it’s a Vito it is mainly single skin so I’m looking at a sound deadening/insulation/vapour shield in one from van pimps, have you heard of this type of product, if so would you recommend it ??

I watch a lot of 'van lifer' channels, and there's one recurring them in all of them; the bare minimum of time/money is spent on preventative maintenance. Huge amounts of effort is put into interior design and the latest tech, but the mechanical underpinnings are largely ignore. Sure every car has a catch all service and MOT once a year but it's not enough when you rely on a vehicle to the extent that you do. It's much better for example to change a potential worn wheel bearing before it fails completely at the side of a remote track in the back of beyond. So before you invest in a fancy new drone or electric bike, have a think about enhanced service schedules or buy some spanners?

I know where it is too. But I’m keeping schtum. It’s a hidden peaceful gem and needs to stay that way.

Why isolate anyway?? For that one or two times not having shore power when you are not at a campsite... Most vans are quite cool in the summer and it's not freezing inside when it's cold, and with a small infrared heater it warms up in 10 minutes. And leaving it just metal on the inside will never give you any trouble with moisture!!

Hey, great video and im looking forward to the rest but I have a nagging question. Did you pay for the dodo products or was it supplied free of charge? Every conversion video I have watched recently use dodo products but I have found it to be really expensive compared to alternatives with the same r ratings. I have completed 3 van conversions now and wanted to test out the sound deadening on my last one and once the conversion was finished it made absolutely no difference, although I don't tend to stay in places surrounded with people who have fetishes for going round tapping vans, which seems to be every KZbinrs reason, test method and justification for using it. 😂

On the topic of drinking in campervans, how do you get around the drunk in charge if PC plod turns up? Obviously if you have keys on you or even in the van, they can still charge you? Genuine question as I'm thinking about getting a campervan and do enjoy a beer or three...

I am having the exact same problem with my diesel mondeo. I love the car but damn it’s annoying. Ford dealership said it was probably fuel pump or injectors etc. £1500 to fix. It’s gone into an independent garage this morning 😂

My vivaro has 2 windows in the back doors and in the side door and opposite. Those 2 slide open as well so plenty of ventilation. Great video Shaun.
