The G1 Butterfly Guitar Stand was designed in Germany to keep guitars safely upright, whether on a stage, in a studio or at home. It’s also small enough to fit in the back pocket of a gig bag! The stand’s two-tiered cradle accommodates almost any electric, acoustic, classical or bass guitar, and even other stringed instruments such as mandolins.

Looks cool but my 20 year old stand can still hold my Stratocaster just fine.

I went on a pilgrimage looking for the best guitar stand. The winner was the Hamilton KB 38. C $30.00 USD. A really big surprise. It is made by Hamilton founded in 1883. A company still owned by the family. Famous for their sheet music stands. It came out in 1970. . It looks like a drummers cymbal stand except when the legs spread out the center post nearly touches the ground. This gives it the lowest center of gravity. In short the least possibility of it tipping. At the top you have the yoke that is all but completely V shaped. When you hang the guitars it literally grips the neck. The the body rests against the legs. If you just hang it without getting to fussy it can not slip nor with the gravity thing fall. It can take a pretty good bump and not even move. It is all but impossible for it to fall out. Add to that it has a relatively small footprint great for small stages and putting it into limited space. Apparently the company all but owns the 'Worship' market. In one review a roadie from a church group said they bought 3 in 1971 and all three have been collapsed and moved all this time without any wear. They still functions like new and they have never had one fall all that time. THANX for the demo. It was surprisingly entertaining. It would be great to see the occasional review of other stands. I heard great things about is the Hercules GS45B. Too unique to describe. Like todays stand low and compact. One guy said it is toddler and dog proof, LOL.

I still prefer stands that support the guitar at the neck, despite the fact that this one is made of metal and has some weight i wouldn't trust it at home and even less on a stage. You can buy far better stands at far less than $129 that provide safer support.

I've been burned by stands that don't have neck support. Compact size is nice though.

This stand takes up a ridiculous amount of space both folded and unfolded, and is ridiculously priced. If you want something portable that you can take to a gig, get the Hercules GS200B EZ Pack stand for $23, it fits inside your gig bag pocket and is also able to hold either acoustic or electric guitar.

I agree the price can be lower but it doesn't seem to take up much space to me.

Not my style of guitar stand but it does look really nice and solid. I really like the magnets. Nice review.

Curious what multi guitar stands you are using behind you. I’m looking to go that route but I want to make sure I get something sturdy.

I have 65 guitars, these are Hercules Stands. They're outstanding and really do a nice job. I keep 30 guitars out in my studio, all sit in these Hercules stands. The rest are in HSC's. There are less expensive clones on flee bay, but the examples I've seen felt terribly flimsy.

Oh no! Made of “metal” how note worthy! And “designed in Germany”! Wow some guy had a laptop with CAD with him in a hotel in picklespaool Germany.

It's cool but pricey. Good for a pro musician for a stage stand that's easy to store and carry.

Any comment from Xvive on what the material of the padding is? Will it react with nitro finishes?
@addictedtogear

Silicone

@@addictedtogear So nitro will react with silicone and you will get stand rash on your finish. A guitar finished with nitro should not stay in this stand for very long.

@DanielBobke This is not silicon and it is a special rubber that does not react with Nitro, Xvive Tested with different type of Nitro

I thought you shouldn’t have magnets close to your pickups, I believe it affects the pole pieces….or is that a myth?

That is a good point however. They are far enough that I doubt it would do anything to them.
