@@DrKillFeeDZ Records say up to about 600 lbs and 7 ft in length, though the biggest grouper caught was a little under 700 lbs. Look up "world record Atlantic Goliath Grouper"... or just look at some pictures of monster grouper people have caught.

Hey, sometimes it's not about the size, it's how fun it was to catch. I caught a 20 lb gag grouper off near Panama City Beach, FL... Second biggest fish I've caught in my life so far (I'm 28), but it was a blast to reel in.

@@shelbyherring92 All of my life, I’d only been trout fishing from the shores of lakes, rivers, or streams. Some of them were these tiny but wily fish called brookies. So the first time I went fishing in the Puget Sound, I got two firsts: I caught a flounder with a crab tagging along 😹 and I caught two dogfish, both about 2 1/2 feet long. They were BY FAR the largest fish I had ever caught and I had a blast!!

Brisbane River is the home of the Bull Shark - you can spot them far upstream, all the way to the Mt Crosby Weir. There are reports from the Wivenhoe Dam, but if they are to be believed then they must be deliberate introductions, which seems very unlikely. The dam was completed 1984.

Oh wow, we used rods like that for deep rock fishing off the coast of San Francisco. Last trip, we ended up with about 3.5k pounds of fish in total. I ended up catching the largest fish for the trip, a Ling Cod, was about 64 pounds and 109cm long. Took almost 2 hours to pull it up the 300-/+ meters from the bottom. (almost 1000 feet below)

Groper, not Grouper. In the US they have a similar huge fish called a Grouper. In Queensland however the fish in this video is called a Queensland Groper. Jeremy correctly pronounces the name too. Well done. And yes, this one is a baby. They grow to massive sizes. Supposedly the largest boney fish in the world. Either way, they will take a fully grown Spanish Mackerel and it will hardly touch the sides as it's going down the gullet.

i go fishing in that exact spot weekly, lots of bullies though ive never tried to catch a big one, mainly flathead threadfin and jew i go after. to all the people saying its fresh water it is not, at that end of the river its 100% salt water, however bullsharks can and do live all the way at the start of the river where its fresh water.

Mate Brisbane river is brackish water the whole way up. Certainly the salt level is higher in the ocean junction. Juvenile bullsharks usually immigrate to this river to use it as a nursery.

It's called a leader or wire trace it's made of wire so the fish can't bite u off u attach it to the end of your line then put the hook on the end of the wire
