Reminds me of playing games with my little brother. We'd play GTAV, go running into traffic. If you jump and then press crouch (I think it was crouch) in midair your character flops forward for some reason. We'd shout out "front flip for style!" and then get plastered by a bus. As someone with long legs who _always_ takes 2-3 steps up at a time (single ones feel as awkward as Snake's animation looks), going down is a different thing entirely. When going down you pick up more speed from taking an additional step, because you're essentially "falling" twice as far before catching yourself. That gives you much less control, so I only ever do it if I know for sure that the stairs won't be even slightly slippery, and while holding on to the handrail. Don't want to risk falling down the stairs because I was impatient.
