I want to like Calpak but their products have been disappointing. I bought a Stevyn duffel and it was SO heavy and held very little. A big part of the issue was the shoe compartment; which took a disproportionate amount of the space up.

I agree. I traveled with that bag to Hawaii and did not like it at all. I thought I would because of the shoe space, which was nice, but the upper part I felt could barely fit anything!

I have to agree! I have the Stevyn Duffle and while it looks amazing, it doesn’t hold a lot yet feels so heavy when packed. I just purchased the Luka (normal size) waiting until I get it.

I got the Luka duffel (in chocolate) thanks to your vids and travel tomo for the first time with it! I’m hoping to fly carry on only with the Luka as my personal item. I am excited to give it a whirl!

@@Kayleefromkansas I did manage to fly carry on only - so YAY for me! I got a little toiletries case like you showed previously and that helped. I did use my Luka as my personal item but I also had a roller carry on so I can't claim to have packed light. It was only a 4 day work trip, so it was definitely not light - I feel like a minimal packer could have made it work in just the carry on OR the Luka. I filled the carry on with all my stuff and used the Luka as my personal item with my purse, book, snacks, scarf, makeup, etc. I'll work on minimalism, but for now I do love the Luka! It's so comfortable, I love the water pocket, the internal pockets, and how squishy it is :) Thanks for the reviews!

@@Kayleefromkansas Funny, that same voice speaks to me as well! ;) I only had 1 extra pair of pants, and 2 camis I didn't use, but I think that's not bad. I'd rather be over prepared than under. Hence, minimalism evades me!

Love your honest review Kaylee. I have all the same items as well and have traveled with just the duffle and laptop bag but am now curious about the backpack. I got mine in the rose quartz color and so far so good. I appreciate your review as a Calpak lover!

So update… I packed up my backpack (in advance of my vacay) and the fact that my water bottle didn’t fit, I mean at all was an absolute disappointment. Then you add that the straps were so thin, the weight was unbearable on my shoulders. Now I could have packed less BUT I wanted to get a feel for what to expect on travel day. Sad to say, I made the decision to return the backpack since I was within the 30 days and didn’t remove the tags. Now I’m back to using my Northface 🤷🏻‍♀️ It is a bummer because I really like the Luka line but the backpack just didn’t work out for me. Thankfully I still have the duffel, tote and belt bag. Just sharing…

I've heard of people taking a seam ripper to the inside pocket on the Luka duffel in order to make the two pockets into a laptop sleeve, so maybe that would work for you?

Really curious if you’ve used your Calpak more and if you’ve noticed and stains or scuffs on the light color and/or have cleaned it? I want a lighter color but am nervous shoving it under the plane seat…or if I should just get it in black 😂

If I could do it again…for air travel I’d pick a darker color! The light color is okay if I’m throwing it in the backseat of my car, but even if I put it in the trunk I do feel like I have to make sure my khaki one isn’t getting dirty lol. I hope that makes sense!

Hi :) so I have been obsessing with the Luka duffel for so many months I’m dying to get it but the price kind of throws me off a little bit because I do have some points but still more than I want to spend right now just because I just bought the base carry-on luggage anyway long story short I really wanna pull the trigger but I can’t decide what color to get. I’m typically a black bag girly through and through, but the black to me looks more shiny than Matt, and I actually like the look of the two tone but I’m afraid that if I get the one you have is telling me in my head to avoid white or cream at all costs because I’m afraid of stains. I understand it could be easy to clean, but what if you get a Penmark I don’t know the things I think about because I’m that person then if I get one stain on it, I can’t look away I perseverate over it, and then I noticed that you got more of the brown color in the larger one, but I don’t know if that’s me, I guess after this long rant, what is your experience with stains with the light color on your Luka. Thanks very much for your help.

Thank you for watching! I haven’t had any issues with stains on the light color, and I think most things would pretty easily wipe off. With that being said I love the lighter color, but I’m not sure I would get it again because I just don’t want to have to be extra careful and conscious of that you know? I actually also have the laptop bag in black and I don’t think it’s too shiny!

Great review. The problem that I have with the Luka duffle and the other bags in the nylon material is that the Never stay on my shoulders. Especially when I wear my nylon down coat. They need better handles that will stay on your shoulders. Your hair is really growing. I never wanted the luka back pack it looks cheap, especially the straps which seem line. I have read other reviews that said same thing.

Yeah the backpack is definitely not my favorite! I haven’t had a problem with the straps but I also haven’t tried them with a nylon coat, that’s a good point! Glad to hear from you :)

@Kayleefromkansas Hi, have you tried the Calpak water bottle bag? I recently started ording from Dagne Dover their large toiletry bag and a cross body. I saw another bag it was nylon and I asked the reviewer dud she have issue with the bag not staying on her shoulders, and said yes that why she wouldn't buy another one. I wished the designers would think about this especially for the prices the charge on these bags. I expect no issues. Lol

@@lisagraves5813 so true on the price!! Yes I have the water bottle bag and I like it for when I’m going on walks, especially if I am walking the dogs. Then I can use it to carry their water bottle if we’re going a long ways! And it has a pocket for keys, phone, etc!

Hi! Do you feel like the pockets inside the Luka laptop tote are kind of floppy/stretched open? One almost feels more stretched out than the other to me.

Now that you mention it, yes I have noticed that! It hasn’t been something that has bothered me but now I’m going to keep an eye on it…
