From the proposal to the wedding we had 6 weeks. Two friends had me borrow their gowns. Everything was so beautiful and stunning. Exactly what I would have chosen for myself. I had attended both of their weddings yet the dress is looked completely different on me. We are opposites in height etc. It's a shocker that they fit me so well. Applause to them for lending me their gowns. My daughter at 19 tried on her first wedding gown. It was her perfect fit. We sent it also to a friend with no strings attached. We gifted it to her. She modified it.

I don't quite understand the concept of "connecting" to a dress. Granted, I'm not married, but I've always just bought clothes I thought suited me and looked nice. After all, isn't the marriage more important than the wedding? And if you can't find a "connection" after 200 (!!) dresses, then maybe you're just looking for excuses to not buy one.

Aneeza Bilal same. They cry most of the times when it’s the “right” one. But I think it has to do with a very Important day, probably the most important day of your life besides birthing children. The day you commit to one man for the rest of your living life and how you want him to see you the day of the ceremony. I don’t know. Or maybe having a white dress on, so much whiteness is complicated. I’ve always tried to understand it too.

All the dresses they try on are conceptualised by designers based on the latest trends, stocked in different places according to the fashion there. I guess finding a perfect dress for you makes sense. But wasting time trying on hundreds of dresses looking for one for you to imprint on (Twilight reference) is very weird. Your explanation does explain it a bit though.

I'm happily married for 2 years and I don't get what they are saying. I made my dress. It's a simple gown and I loved it. I completed it 1 hour before I was supposed to fly out to get married. Made some errors and still wore it. This perfect dress and wedding day nonsense has to stop. Especially since most couples don't last.

I tried on 4 dresses and was so hungry and tired 😂 200 dresses, multiple stores, and multiple trips sounds exhausting. Glad i found the perfect dress and veil for me so quickly (and i’m sure my sister felt the same way 😂)

I like how her family and friends supported her all the way, even after 200 dresses they didn't give up on her and respected her feelings and weird behaviour towards dress, they seemed so happy to finally find it as much as her. ... As someone who tried on over 60 dresses, it’s a combination of the places I’ve gone, the consultations not understanding my style, me not knowing what I like, and my budget that limited me. But it took me to go to 9 places and try on that many dresses, to figure out that I needed to increase my budget and that I like particular things 🤷🏾‍♀️

It fit her style. She mentioned a fitted dress with thin straps (like what she was wearing when she came in). While her mom wanted traditional, she wanted something non-traditional. She got it in the dress she picked. It was a simple dress. Perfect for a spring/summer wedding.
