UPDATE: Even tho Genki says the Covert Dock Mini is compatible with the Steam Deck, it's still not actually fast enough to charge the battery when the deck is in use, as mentioned in this video from @KevinKenson: kzbin.info/www/bejne/b6S9mZuEjJmgbpI

Like many audio, video, and data cables, HDMI cords can suffer from signal degradation at longer lengths-50 feet is generally considered the maximum reliable length. And it's rare to see an HDMI cable longer than 25 feet in a store. How long can an HDMI cable be? It depends on how it's made and what resolution your content is. The longer an HDMI cable is, the more signal it loses due to attenuation, which is why it needs to be made with a thicker gauge, officially known as its AWG rating; its American Wire Gauge. The lower a cable's AWG rating, the thicker its gauge and the better equipped it is to deliver a high-resolution signal over longer distances.

Should've said this in the video (even with text), but this video is #NotAnAd, I paid for the Covert dock and Stand with my own cash.

Genki also makes Hall Effect joysticks for the Switch and Steam Deck (and plans to make them for more systems)

I bought one of these a couple of years ago... Whilst it never killed either of my switches (original or OLED) it did eventually stop working. It would power the switch without issue but it stopped outputting via HDMI. A bit of research online suggested that leaving this dock plugged in with their own shadowcast peripheral overheated the HDMI connection. Would I buy it again... Possibly but I think a better alternative is to buy a second hand official dock and reshell it with a smaller more portable shell. The other downside is that you end up using longer cables which isn't as neat and compact as the design implies.

It's cool they've made it so small but it's too much money for me and I'm not sure I like the idea of running a HDMI to the plug sockets it seems like quite an inconvenience
