I've wanted this since I was 17 Years old - Was it worth the wait?

I have owned my 1992 Ford Fox body Mustang 5.0 Notchback since 1997 and ever since I bought it, I've wanted to instal an air ride suspension kit on it. Air ride has definitely come a long way since the 1990's and for good reason because many high end vehicles come with some sort of air ride - or air assist suspension on them from the factory. I installed an Airtekk stage 2 air ride suspension on my 92 foxbody in September of 2023 and I wanted to provide those that are interested with a POV style ride along, as well as a "how to" on how to run the system, and provide my thoughts surrounding the quality of parts, difficulty of instal, and over all ride quality of this type of suspension system. I also have the full 4 part series of the step by step on how to install this Airtekk Air Ride system on your car.

Lol. I was in my late 20's when I fell in love with the fox. It was an 89. Took my breath away. Later that month, we were gonna get a brand new one for about 5k. Later I found out I was gonna have a baby😮. Can't have fast car with baby😮. So, I waited till 2016 and got a used, fairly unmolested 91gt. OH HELL YAH IT WAS WORTH IT!!

Hi Gary. Your remark at 19:20 absolutely says it all for those of us who love these cars. Foxcast Media did a video a while ago about a new RideTech front suspension that changes the front to bolt on upper and lower A arms. Maybe ask your RideTech buddy about that. Thanks. Hahaha yessir - they always put a smile on our faces 😁. We did speak with Andrew about that double wish bone front. I also have a couple friends with it and they all seem to really like it. Yeah, this finger was a good one... You would like the story I told on the podcast about how I had to cool it down with a couple of frozen bagels in order to fall asleep 🤣

Man I love the car I even have the same spoiler on my coupe. However bodykits on coupes... not necessarily something I could live with on my car. But that's why mustangs are so great you can do whatever you want to them to make it your own

Can you make it soft? Maybe when cruising. I have extra large sway bars already. Your car seems to ride as smooth as my coilovers...not smooth. Would be nice to select a ride. Like the magna ride. Maybe they can make fox body kit?

You can with the Stage 2+ kit. Mine is the standard stage 2 but it is expandable to the plus version

A great one Gary, such a very cool setup, you did a bang up job on explaining everything, it definitely a awesome direction for someone who is looking for a different suspension that is what's currently out there. One question i have is that the air adjustments does bring your height up or down, but does it dampens the ride stiffness with air or is that your travel adjustment along with air?

Thanks buddy! If you have no air in the system, then the suspension will go it the bottom of its travel and sit there so I guess to answer your question - it only goes "up." More air in the bags will definitely stiffen things up as well. One could think of it like having more spring rate. The rear is a stand alone air bag with an external/traditional shock. The front is the exact same as a coil over except there is an air bag in place of the spring. Then inside the bag is a strut so the "spring"/strut is an all in one combo

Great video as always, Gary! Question and maybe you said this and I missed it, but can you setup presets for ride height? So if you find the perfect driving height just click one button, then for parked height click another? If not that would be pretty slick.

Thanks buddy. This is the Stage 2 kit which does not have that capability however, the stage 2 + kit does have preset heights and can be run from your phone. Apparently you can expand the stage 2 kit to a plus kit very easily 👍
