Nice to see your mum again, yes the joke was you went into Poundland and asked How much things were, the reply would come a pound. Now its a thing to charge more for certain items, maybe its just them surviving in this world of ours. Lovely vlog keep up the good work love to your mum xxxx

Evening Gaby, lovely to see your mum,she is a lovely lady, I shop at Poundland which I like, I buy a lot of cleaning products there and other bits, soaps and shower gel are good, not many things are a pound no more even in the pound below. I shop more in BM and home and bargains and the range, thanks for sharing your shopping trip, hope your car is ok. Have a lovely weekend 🤗

Great Vlog again as usual Gaby. Poundland is not really Poundland anymore as there are many things that exceed that name perception but I do get it that branded items could never be sold at those very low prices. For me personally it’s ok for the occasional item. Oh no how annoying and unfortunate to put wrong fuel in the car. Great to see your Mum. Another very good, honest down to earth assessment Thank You

What I liked about "Poundland" was that the concept was one of the best sales pitch that could undeniably draw in a crowd. The problem was that it was an impossible pitch and sales hook to deliver. It eventually had to accept that it was undeliverable and there lies the crash and burn reality moment. The public wanted the pitch to be true, but it was impossible. Perhaps it should have been more a "Slogan like 1, 2, 3, 4, 5... Keep the power of your pound alive. That way it allows the shopper to know that the cost of the goods will be within their affordable budget range. So "£'s Land" would be received much more favorably. It's just an idea.

6:20 I saw those same prints that look like pencil drawings at the Dollar Tree (similar to Poundland), here in California. Lol..Of course most of the merchandise is sent to most discount shops like this but it’s funny to spot the same exact prints I just saw. Dollar Tree used to be mostly things for $1.00, but prices go up and at least they still stay as low as possible. A dollar (a pound) doesn’t mean as much anymore. But I just needed sponges for my kitchen and bathroom cleaning, but of course I had to browse around, too. Lol 😁

Our Poundland is meant to be moving into our old Debenhams which is pretty much the size of that one I think so looks as though there will be a good selection of stuff. Apparently some of the discount chains stuff is taking longer to come from the far east as the container ships are coming around South Africa because of the problems in the Red Sea so not using the Suez Canal.

The little wooden man is called a lay figure. They were used in art colleges for the students to draw people and you moved around the limbs, body etc for positions to draw in. So you got the figures running, holding things etc then drew more and rubbed out the joints then added clothes, hair etc.😊

I think even though it’s called Poundland, it really doesn’t mean everything is a Pound. More like the merchandise cost from one to a few pounds. Like our Dollar Tree doesn’t mean one dollar, it costs a dollar to a few dollars. If it said, One Poundland, it would be just that, one pound. But these kinds of stores still is popular and always busy.

When you give Tim the unknown destination T-Shirt, could you maybe set a challenge? I'm thinking you could put destinations with a dice into envelopes. Each envelope contains a destination. He has to roll a dice which gives him a style... Throw 1. Economy flight medium hotel, 2. business flight, economy hotel, 3. first class flight, super luxury hotel. 4. Economy flight with pod hotel 5. First class flight with independent budget hotel. 6. Any form of travel, with at least 3 types of transport. 1 super interesting experience and a quirky place to stay.
