In this video I stay at the southernmost point of Africa which is situated in the Agulhas National Park. I spend 2 nights in their beautiful beach facing chalets and show you the things to do in Cape Agulhas. Expect to see the southern most point in Africa, climbing the second oldest lighthouse in South Africa, a hike through the fynbos, beautiful beaches and much much more.
Agulhas National Park is about 200km south east of Cape Town. Bookings are done on the SANParks website. I stayed in a self-catering chalet. There are no other facilities, but no worries town is only 10km away.

@@NickfrNamibia thx :) how’s the roads to the chalets ? Do u advise staying in the park or strandbaai? N just visit for the day ?
@NickfrNamibia
@NickfrNamibia 2 жыл бұрын
@@fathima9524 from the main gate to the rest camp gate is about 5\6km of gravel which is bad but 100% accessible by 4x2. From the rest camp gate the last few km is a brand new tar road. The rest camp is nice because of the privacy. That stretch of beach and all the hiking are are only available to those staying in the rest camp and not open to day visitors, but for the same price you will get something better in town, maybe on booking.com or AirBnb. Very easy day visit, not necessary to sleep over it is very compact. I enjoy the isolation thats why I stayed a few nights.

@@NickfrNamibia ahh thank you kindly .. so if I stay in town n just go in for the day it’s ok? I want to see the southern most point and the lighthouse .
@NickfrNamibia
@NickfrNamibia 2 жыл бұрын
@@fathima9524 yip, It starts right on the edge of town. The park is divided into 2 sections. the first half as you enter the gate is open to day visitors. it has the lighthouse, southern most point etc. and then further down the road is a second gate which leads to the chalets. In this section no day visitors are allowed.

I visited Morocco n I was told the northernmost point is there , they even had a board 🤷‍♀️ was I lied to ?
@NickfrNamibia
@NickfrNamibia 2 жыл бұрын
Yes you were unfortunately🙃 Open your google maps and draw a line across from the point in Tunisia to Morocco. They do the same in South Africa. there is another sign at Cape Point, but L'Agulhas is clearly more south. Sorry😞

Any camping in the area?
@arnorvca
@arnorvca 2 жыл бұрын
One is in the town and is like camping on a soccer field, no trees and houses all around. The other is on the beach and last time I was there , month ago, the receptionist told me not to camp there due to the crime. It’s sad there is no good camping. It’s so iconic.

Cant agree more with what Arno said. Your best option here is to rent an apartment in town, online or through AirBnb or Booking.com

It is perfect for a camp site, especially inside the park somewhere along the coast, but unfortunately nothing
