Yeah they limited the people who can go up in order to preserve the temple stone especially from corrosion due to friction from visitor shoes etc. Borobudur is actually sacred temple for Buddhist, so yeah, recently, the government put a lot of efforts, tried to restore the function of Borobudur to its original purpose (as a center of buddhist religion site, similar to kabah in mecca, or vatican)

yesss! I’m really glad they implemwnted these rules! 2017 it has been insanely crowded and many people misbehaved when visiting Borobudur so I’m really happy to see some changes

Nice informative video. However, I'm still a bit confused as I'm planning to visit Borobudur next week. So, you got your ticket from the counter at Borobudur Temple and paid the amount at Indomaret? And as you mentioned, people who bought tickets online that include access to the temple structure still have to pay an additional charge to visit the temple?

I included the correct and official link to pre-book entry tickeys in the description box! With that you have the option to choose entrance to the temple itself as well. Bookings on any other website do NOT give you access to the temple. If you book on the spot on the same day its possible that tickets are sold out

Not sure if that means all the 150* 8 =1200 slots are booked or there are some tickets are only reserved for offline booking.
