When the dessert doesn't look great it probably was homemade by someone's grandma, this is a very authentic experience of a regular cheap restaurant locals frequent often.

There's nothing like a good old Portuguese 'Churrasqueira.' Unfortunately, they’re becoming more expensive each year. 'Frango de churrasco' used to be one of the most affordable Portuguese meals to order and take home. Nowadays, that's no longer the case. Glad you enjoyed!

Sorry to say, the chicken there is not the best one. There's one restaurant on the road to the airport, after Aldi, called Frangaria. The serve small birds, which are the tastier ones.

@@davidlguerr didn't see that one but mostly stayed in the city. I enjoyed it though and was great to see the small chicken as opposed to the steroid induced one's we get in Ireland. The atmosphere was quirky as well ❤️🇮🇪🇵🇹

@@CelticMickWalks And that's the secret of a good BBQ chicken, its size. The best places grill birds around 700 grams, no more. There is a famous town in the Algarve, called Guia, famous for the grilled chicken restaurants. Many people think their secret is the sauce, but it is not, they just use small birds. It is juicier and tender.

Not very promising from the outside and the menu looked suspiciously cheap, but I'm glad you had a lovely experience. The fact that your partner finished her food is the supreme test of any kitchen. 🙏
