Hey Ghib, wanna ask did you need to ask permission from the SMRT officers there to film so long inside MRT station? Coz SG gov usually take security at MRT quite serious. Genuinely curious.

I heard that punggol coast MRT station uses District Cooling System (DCS) which is cooling and more energy efficient, 30% lesser in energy consumption compared to typical buildings. 🐻‍❄❄

Space is kind of massive... not too sure what the space looks like when the building fully operates. But looking forward to the hawker centre as the current coffee shop opposite Punggol Point Cove is a bit too expensive and not enough seats. By the way, where is that foodgle hub located?

Thanks for the feature Ghib! Punggol Coast now brings us closer to Coney Island which is beautiful. At the Foodgle you visited, there’s an American Cuisine, NomStop, opened by the alumni of Culinary Institute of America (CIA), a programme hosted by SIT. We tried their lobster roll and seafood boil, and they were both flavourful and great for their prices.

Cut down on cars n bikes. Its still good. Even if trains breakdown often.. Still its runs almost 24 hr. Of course it will breakdown every now and then. But more mrt route is better. So one down, there are another mrt way to get to the place that we need to go. Rather than the shuttle bus. 😅💀

I actually passed by the area some time before it opened Aside from that uhh I did consider although its kinda out there a bit Aside from that the next year or two (or three?) is gonna be interesting, mostly next year I think Still some time to go I think it was not that long ago the video of punggol itself A strange one for sure When I went there I think some of the buildings and what not are still under construction so it might be a year or two before they are done Sometimes I wonder how the places looked like many years ago I guess just empty land? I think most if not all the other stations usually they are built into the existing buildings While here it seems more like they build the station first and then the buildings are built around the station Not 100% sure of the timeline since all these things take very long Apparently theres even gonna be a new bus interchange

Lovely planning and design. BUT hate the trend towards open air malls (Star Vista etc). While I understand the need to reduce our carbon footprint etc, we need to do this in moderation. Singapore is a tropical island that sees an average of 80% humidity each year. This makes it extremely uncomfortable to sit or hang out in sheltered but open air malls such as these, for anything over an hour. Forget about leisurely browsing like one would do at an airconditioned mall. Other than food retailers having customers during meal times or private schools conducting various kinds of lessons, most other retailers will see less business than their counterparts at an air conditioned mall. (Understandably, the rental will be higher too). Personal (unpopular) opinion here: The mall developers are probably the happiest folks with the development of this trend as they save a ton of money from construction to maintenance to electricity bills, when they exclude air-conditioning for the most part of their malls. Well, I'm voting with my wallet: avoid going to such malls unless there is a critical errand. This is Singapore. Hot lei. What's next? Replacing air-conditioning with fans at our workplaces, hotels and lecture theatres in the name of sustainability? That'll be fun to see.

Billion dollar insight - Singapore collaborate with Japan to install BOSS iced bottled (not canned) coffee vending machines in national or global university campuses, schools, high schools, junior colleges, office buildings, police stations, government buildings, places with security guards on night shifts, hospitals, and construction sites (places where people are time poor and have to meet deadlines), and communicate via advertising, social media and KZbin that the pivotal benefit of the vending machine is to save time from queuing and squeezing with the crowds to buy a cup of hot coffee to drink in hot weather (don’t make sense). Time saved can go towards max out senior management profits where the workers convert low value wasted time spent in queuing into working, learning or recovery (higher value) times. The vending machines have inbuilt weight sensors linked to e-data sim that alert the BOSS coffee teams to replenish the vending machines when stock is low. A marketing campaign can be launched where members via their phone BOSS coffee app can earn enough reward credits to redeem one free BOSS coffee - subject to 1 bottle free per day per account.

0:15 Goodwill feedback. People are getting poorer, overworked and stressed. Not a good political or media move to place two scenes next to each other where scene 1. Enthusiastic (a lot of people) people chanting to open new MRT station, scene 2. alleged Monkeys enthusiastic about the new opening of the MRT station. Some people will associate and think that you offensively infer that Singaporeans, Singapore or Singapore government are monkeys. Consider taking some media studies, EQ courses and learning about troll behaviours and cultural studies to identify the hidden meaning behind certain media and don’t just take words, text, photos, conversations or videos at face value.

Analysis of the Feedback: 1. Supportive Reasoning: • The critique highlights the potential for unintended offense in juxtaposing scenes involving people and monkeys in the same narrative context. This is particularly sensitive in a multicultural and politically aware society like Singapore, where citizens may interpret media content through socio-political lenses. 2. Counter-Argument: • The choice of scenes could be coincidental or intended as humor without malice. Media creators often rely on light-hearted content to engage audiences, and not all viewers may perceive it as offensive. Some may interpret it as a harmless parallel to collective excitement. 3. Action Point for Improvement: • Media creators should consider conducting focus groups or seeking diverse perspectives during the editing process to identify potential sensitivities. Additionally, training in cultural studies, media literacy, and EQ could help media teams foresee unintended interpretations.
