La deuxième c'est que la seule raison pour laquelle le clasico est "légèrement" plus médiatisé que le derby c'est que ça concerne Paris a.k.a le centre du monde des médias. Maintenant je suis désolé de devoir te l'annoncer mais malgré le fait que la plupart des gens regardent le clasico quand il passe le dimanche soir en prime time, l'opinion publique n'est pas pour autant plus engagé que pendant le derby. D'ailleurs faudrait apprendre à doser sur la modestie, le clasico ça ne coupe pas la France en deux puisque 80% des français sont contre Paris. If you want hotter rivalry in France, check Lyon-Marseille (or Marseille-Lyon), Lyon - Saint-Étienne (probably the "hottest" rivalry in France), or Lille-Lens. PSG/OM is something more commercial that started to be promoted in the late 80' by Canal+ without any sport rivalry at the origin, only to create a French el Clasico as in Spain. Lille-Lens and OL-ASSE are today the two hottest derbies in France (hope Sainté will be back in L1 next year), and OL-OM is a true and "new" sport rivalry which is probably one of the most expected encounter in the season, such as OM-Bordeaux back in the days. Il y aussi le derby Lille Lens qui est pas mal. Pour information quand l'équipe de France a joué, Mbappé a été sifflé au Vélodrome, tout comme Hernandez, Dembele, Kolo Muani ( ce qui est un peu ridicule selon moi ), mais ça montre à quel point les marseillais sont vraiment anti-PSG et je pense que c'est réciproque. Sinon n'hésite pas à venir à Lyon, y a aussi de l'ambiance.

To correct GroundHopper, no Marseille is not necessary a working class club in France, it is a popular team that has been followed by all kind of ppl due to past victories : working class, upper class, ppl from city and from countryside. Working class club are more Lens or Saint Etienne. And PSG is not only glitz and fancy, it has been like OM a popular club followed by all kind of social class. The 2 historic kops of Paris was fighting to death because of opposite political views and background. Parc des Princes have been a stadium with a soul where working class was behind the goals and rich on the presidential stands. Since Qatar and Messi it has brought more tourists and blitz but the ultras still try to perpetuate the popular story of the club.
