RIP Queen Elizabeth II. I’m a Chinese immigrant in New Zealand, one of the Commonwealth realms, and I consider myself a staunch monarchist. When my parents grew up under communism, they told me that British Hong Kong was a refuge for people escaping from persecution and violent revolutions. I don’t care what the ‘anti colonialists’ say, but Her Majesty was a symbol of hope for me, and she’ll forever be my Queen. She served graciously for 70 years.

In my country the British monarchy was/is the symbol of those who stood against Hitler and our liberation from Nazi tyranny. I know it is today the fashion to bash the British past but we should be brave enough to speak out for the possitive things the Brits gave the world. We own it to those who gave their today for freedom. Like the fight to abolish slavery and for sacrificing their empire to stop the Nazis and fascists. The Battle of Britain was more than a victory for one but for all of us. And be assured they could have made a deal with Hitler to safe the empire, he was willing to talk as he feared his Krieg Marine would not be able to defeat the Royal Navy.
He was wonderful in the phantom, but how beautiful this is. Inspires loyalty.

"I Vow to Thee, My Country" is a British patriotic hymn, created in 1921 when music by Gustav Holst had a poem by Sir Cecil Spring Rice set to it. The music originated as a wordless melody, which Holst later named "Thaxted", taken from the "Jupiter" movement of Holst's 1917 suite The Planets. So credit for the music goes to the British composer Gustav Holst. This was probably first performed in 1921 and became a common element at Armistice memorial ceremonies, especially after it was published as a hymn in 1926. Holst adapted the music from a section of Jupiter from his suite The Planets to create a setting for the poem. The music was extended slightly to fit the final two lines of the first verse. At the request of the publisher Curwen, Holst made a version as a unison song with orchestra (Curwen also published Sir Hubert Parry's unison song with orchestra, "Jerusalem").

In the UK, it is "celebrated" on both the 11th (Remembrance Day), and the closest Sunday to the 11th (Remembrance Sunday). On both these day, cannons will fire at 11am for a minute silence around the nation. This is coupled with poppies being worn by almost everyone, where the money donated from their sale goes to the Royal British Legion, supporting both those who have served, and the families of those currently serving.

When I saw Les Mis on Broadway, in, I think, 2015?...Ramin was starring in it. I didn’t know who he was and it was the weekend so he was not appearing that particular afternoon. It was still remarkable but....this is what I missed? This man is over the top talented and I could, and probably will, watch this every damn day....❤️❤️👍🏻👍🏻

The live telecast of Prince Philip's funeral led me here. Amazing, since I admire Ramin since watching POTO last year during the pandemic.

What an amazing voice and presence. Ramin Karimloo is truly exceptional. And to an empty V&A Hall. I had to explain to an American friend why everyone is wearing a flower during this period.

So beautiful inspiring and emotional 😢 your passion you put into everything you sing, gives me goosebumps, you did us proud, remembering the fallen soldier's, sailors, Airmen, Dr, Nurses, Emergency services, and civilians past and present who gave their lives for us. Bravo Ramin 👏 👏 👏 👏 Bravo
