Yessss 300cc two stroke. Get springs more suited to your weight, it’s likely your much heavier than the stock springs intended rider..
@joshuanorris5860
@joshuanorris5860 6 жыл бұрын
joe conway unless your bottoming out constantly you dont need stiffer springs. If you go a full race, or a full trail ride, withoit bottoming out a few times then your suspension is adjusted too tight.
@sotahullu1
@sotahullu1 6 жыл бұрын
joe conway really hard to belive that a 2018 husaberg wouldent have proper adjustable spring/shocks in it from the start...unless u weigh something around 200kg
@Jconway651
@Jconway651 6 жыл бұрын
ES the KTM bike manuals call for a different spring stiffness for every 10kg difference in rider weight. So as far as KTM/Husaberg are concerned yes you do. Adjusting preload on a spring isn’t a substitute for the correct spring rate. Adjustable pre-load just changes the load require to get the spring to begin compressing. If it’s a linear spring it will still have the same “wrong” spring rate after the preload is overcome.
@sotahullu1
@sotahullu1 6 жыл бұрын
joe conway well the only ktm i have used for more than 100h of driving had the adjustable shocks and it was an 04 model and im around only 75kg so no biggies for the bike but my friend(around 120kg) rode the same bike and the only thing needed done was to adjust the shocks compression.just adjust how fast/slow the shocks work and u will have no probs.
@joshuanorris5860
@joshuanorris5860 6 жыл бұрын
ES they DO have adjustable shocks. Front and back. But depending on your weight and how aggressive you are.. you may want to swap the springs. Personally i own a kx450f. The 450's are sprung tighter then the 250's and im only 150 pounds. So if i could trade someone my 450 spring for a 250 spring, that would work much better for me. Atm my bike is a bit too ridged and choppy for my weight. Ive rode 250's before and the softer spring is beautiful. By the way if you dont bottom out ever, your bike is too stiff. You SHOULD bottom out sometimes, or your suspension is way too tight.

Absolute truth! We are a motorbike family... They asked me if I would stop riding when I got married... They asked me if I would stop riding when my wife broke her shoulder... They asked me if I would stop riding when we got pregnant... With a house full of kids, a barn full of bikes keeps us from going insane - we have no plans of stopping.

Also, not trying to be too ignorant but I would start to teach jack to wash his bike a little better. It’s not filthy by any means but teaching him to remove the plastics and the wheels to wash behind them and along with the wheels being off he can grease the axles and check his brake pads and bearing life will make him much more responsible and treat the bike much better. I’ve watched perfectly good bikes get abused and neglected by kids who don’t appreciate what their parents do for them.

Haha, you're stiff on that 2 smoke! It will all come back and you'll loosen up more every time you take it out. The neck protection is about the best piece of gear after the helmet as far as I'm concerned. I still have an old leatt that's been tested and worked as I'd hoped. I hope your new A stars is more comfortable. I still like the four strokes for out here in the inland deserts but I hear the katoom and husky 2 strokes are a much better bike in the woods and technical trails. I think you might be lucky if you can keep Jack on the CRF for the summer but he can use it to learn the cornering and jumping that's so different than the quads. He'll be ready for a bigger bike very soon no doubt. Have a blast!

All have their place and importance. I fractured T7-10 when I ran out of talent and landed on my noggin about 16 years ago and was in a back brace for 3 months and off work for 5. I place as much importance on a good neck brace as a helmet purely from my experience but Cody and Jack are wearing it all, as they should.

Yeh right That’s why most pro riders and recreational riders use them now you obviously have never used one and are trying to take the high ground as if you are the worlds master of clutch control they work exactly the same as a normal clutch but prevent stalling and if you master how to use the rekluse it just makes you a better rider and makes riding easier in really slow section s and fast sections alike try one before you pass comment n if you do and say you don t like it your talking bull but as you said each to your own 👍

I love your channel and your mind space regarding life, you are never seemingly afraid to try just about anything and learn from your mistakes and share both success and failure, what I can not help notice is a number of your experiences it's the incongruity of it, e.g. Riding all geared up and not wearing proper boots, or talking safety and then pulling lumber through your table saw, please take care.

Time is a river... I guess that is why so many people drown in it, struggling to find their path. Time with Jack is SOOOOooo important, especially now. Building, bonding, living, loving, learning. Good times. Philea

How does this tie into being a steward of the land?
@turnersparadise8368
@turnersparadise8368 6 жыл бұрын
I guess the same way watching football, snow skiing, going to the theater or a trip to Mexico does...You should go hug a tree.
@mem7048
@mem7048 6 жыл бұрын
So not a tree hugger, actually a logger. I only watch college football, don't ski anymore after a night jump screwed up my knee, do snowmobile though, have since I was 5. Been to Mexico quite a few times, prefer Cozumel or Cancun as the diving is better and cheaper and you get to use your own tanks. The question was in reference to the series about being the steward of the land and keeping it the way nature intended it to be, but properly maintained to prevent wildfires. Seeing a dirt bike tearing up the fields seemed juxtaposed to that philosophy is all.

Notice the clutch covers? Buy a honda and you spend over $800 for hinson or brand name clutch covers when those Japanese cheap aluminium covers wear out. Factory hydraulic clutch, add another $800. Husqvarna's are race ready bikes, their Austrian designed unlike any other motocross bike which are all Japanese manufacturing and engineering. Cody mentioned Honda's CRF-x models haven't changed or get any real thought put into them, it's a motocross bike with a bigger tank, lights, and extra bulk to be a trail version. These KTM/Husqvarna bikes aren't even able to compete in major racing in North America like AMA/CMRA etc, these bikes are purpose built trail/enduro/adventure bikes in the purest sense of the term. They aren't bastardized race bikes like the Japanese counter parts, apples to oranges my friend.

Oh yeah, and KTM sort of own Husky now so they have access to 'high performance' stuff.

Definitely tell from the tracks on the pasture this wasn't your inaugural ride 👍 . I've never ridden bikes, but I've had 4-wheelers all my life. I grew up with Hondas, but I've got to say, now, when you're buying a Honda, you're buying it for the name and what will be a something that will be bulletproof and last you a lifetime. They're not innovating like a lot of the other brands. Even the newly remodeled Foreman just isn't jumping ahead the standard bearers. I love Honda, but if I were in the market for a new 4-wheeler, I, much like you, would pass on the Hondas no matter how reliable they are.
