This is probably the best message I've seen in an MSA video because it is so relatable. I have insecurities about my legs too, and am afraid to wear shorts. I have a large patch of red, itchy skin on my right leg. Lately, I've felt brave enough to wear shorts. No one made fun of me or even looked at me funny. Whoever is out there, just know that you don't have to be insecure about yourself. Be brave. Be strong. People will still love you, because even with your insecurities, you're still you. Be you. I’m also an insecure person who needs reassurance from others all the time. Some people also think my appearance is beautiful but only cause I have ginger hair, freckles and my eyes are a bright color. They always give me the attention whenever they see me pass by but I just don’t believe people anymore because I used to be bullied often and during that time I had “friends” who were only nice to me so they could be seen as kind individuals. There’s nothing on my face that I can’t hide but I do have self harm scars on my arms and legs although, they’re hard to see. I have more mental scars rather than physical ones which is even worse I believe. You can heal from your scars easily but those mental scars are gonna be there forever and no matter how much you try to forget, it doesn’t work. I’m starting to believe what people say nowadays but I used to be someone who would barely let anybody in. My appearance isn’t the only thing I’m insecure about, it’s also some other things. I’m on the autistic spectrum and yes, I know that autism doesn’t make you stupid but I still feel like I’m doing things wrong, I still feel like a dumbass. I’m also on the asexual spectrum, I had a bad experience with SA so it made me scared of sexual interaction. This makes me feel insecure because I barely see any other people on the aro/ace spectrum even in fiction. I love that I’m ace, I’m quite glad but this makes it easy for me to feel uncomfortable and to feel singled out. The final thing that makes me insecure about myself is that I’m also Nonbinary which for those who don’t know, is when someone doesn’t adhere to any biological genders, basically on the gender spectrum they fall into neither female or male. Again, barely anyone is gonna identify as this, at least irl, so I’m basically singed out again and since people irl don’t understand or know what nonbinary is, they’re gonna address me as my assigned gender. I don’t really care about that from strangers but if people I know still use my old pronouns and knows Im neither, they make me feel uncomfortable and a little angry. But I don’t do anything about it because I know it’s not gonna help. Though, if they use my dead name I need to scold them because my dead name isn’t me anymore. That name is something someone else chose for me, someone they wanted for me. The name isn’t who I truly am and that’s why I need to tell them, it feels like I’m being forced into something I never wanted for myself. Also I find it weird that people can still go by the name their parents gave them like nice name did you mom pick it for you? Anyways I’m gonna end this comment, bye peoples :)

To all the insecure girls out there: We guys really don't care if you have some imperfections in your skin, a few scars on your legs or if your long pretty hair is due to extensions. Actually, lots of guys PREFER a girl with a more natural looks. After all, we like to think that the face we see will be the same one we'll see if we'd go to the lake or the mountain or if we're lucky enough to wake up next to you. We like a girl who is comfortable in her own skin, who isn't afraid to be seen without makeup. Sure, it's OK to put on makeup once in a while if it makes you feel better, but know that for us guys you don't really have to. And if you can't go anywhere without hiding behind 30+ layers of make-up, that's actually a negative for us. Makes you seem superficial and insecure. If we wanna be with you, it's because you're pretty in our eyes even without makeup, you're fun to be with and make us feel good etc. And if we want to be with you intimately then we want to see the real you. We never fall in love with the makeup, we're attracted to your natural beauty and to you as a person.
