VFD is a variable frequency drive. It controls the Herrtz going to the motor to allow for steady operation of the motor with the load you are putting on it. Thicker cut means it will ramp the motor up to run more thiner cut will ramp down so it's giving you the same consistent use no matter what.

@@bjorngodden9181 I can, VFD is basically speed control. Changes speed and torque of the motor to be more efficient by adjusting frequency (Hz) and possibly voltage or current.

Regular AC electricity it's delivered to us from the grid at 60 hertz per second and if you hook up the motor it will just run to a steady RPM (depending on the motor specifications at 60 hertz, this could be 1000 rpm, 1500 rpm, etc.) So the VFD control those hertz down and up. Basically boosts or slows the RPM. These are more frequent on industrial mixers, agitators or pressure fluid pumping systems.

VFD, also known as The True King of All Calamities, is a Dark Wyrm Rank 9 XYZ monster, with 3000 attack and defense, and currently sits on the forbidden list in both the TCG and OCG due to its oppressive effect. It derives the name VFD from the three other True Kings. It's because of the names of the other 3 真竜皇アグニマズドV / True King Agnimazud, the Vanisher 真竜皇バハルストスF / True King Bahrastos, the Fathomer 真竜皇リトスアジムD / True King Lithosagym, the Disaster 真竜皇V.F.D. / True King of All Calamities So the way it work's is that you detach a material, call an attribute and it turns all face-up monsters on the field during that turn into said attribute. Note that it doesn't say "currently", so the attribute change applies even to monsters summoned/flipped after it has resolved. Also, for the rest of that turn, all monsters in your opponent's possession(hand, field, grave, banished, deck, extra deck) of the declared attribute cannot activate their effects. The reason why this is so good is because a lot of decks usually revolve around a specific attribute, Adamancipators(Earth), Salamangreat (Fire), Shaddoll Invoked (Dark), HERO (Dark), Zombies(Dark), Mekk-Knight(Light), Mermail Atlantean (Water), etc. So if you know what deck the opponent is using it doesn't matter if the monster hits the field or not, you just call that deck monsters main attribute and they usually get shut down hard. Even for decks that don't revolve around a specific attribute like Altergeist the card is a problem because usually the "starter" monsters of most decks activate their effects on the field. So as soon as they hit the field their attribute will change to the one you declared and they won't be able to activate their effects. There's very few decks that don't get hit hard by this effect. Shaddoll can play around it a lil bit I think since the 2 new main deck monsters are water/wind so they can trigger their effects in grave. But whatever they summon won't be able to activate it's effects sooo yeah. But they could still setup something decent for the next turn. The Invoked package can also play around it they hard draw the Invocation(they always do lol). I believe Endymion decks can play around it easily and Eldlich as well. As for when to use it, you will most of the time want to use it during your opponen'ts standby phase. You don't want to wait till the MP1 because the turn player has priority on playing the first card, so if the first card they play on MP1 is something like Aleister you are screwed because Aleister will trigger and even if you chain Calamity to it's effect it won't matter because Calamity doesn't negate effects, it prevents activations and Aleister would've already activated. During your turn if you think you can swing for game and don't want to get interrupted by a specific hand trap like Ash or a Nibiru just call that monster's attribute and you are free to OTK. It shuts down almost all of your opponents monster effect and prevent your opponents from attacking. Most tiered deck rely on monster effect to do anything. If you go 1st make vfd, and several other big monster, preventing your opponents from activating monster effect will guarantee otk next turn. This card's effect turns all monsters on the field into a declared Attribute, but prevents monsters in the opponent's possession from activating their effects. Therefore, it is more appropriate to declare an Attribute predominantly present on the opponent's Deck, rather than a random and unlikely one, such as DIVINE. For example: against a "Burning Abyss" Deck, declaring "DIVINE" or "WATER" will stop all opposing Extra Deck "Burning Abyss" monsters on the field from activating their effects and attacking, but declaring "DARK" will also stop the "Burning Abyss" monsters from activating their effects in the hand and Graveyard; against a "Shiranui" Deck, declaring "FIRE" will stop their effects that activate when they are banished; against a Deck that uses the "Windwitch" engine, declaring "WIND" will nullify their effects in the hand, etc. Hope this helps.

I share your enthusiasm ! A VFD is a variable frequency drive, it does the electrical motor to spin in a very controlled manner, at the start it accelerates softly, in what is calles a "ramp up" of rpm, this is very good for avoiding sudden electrical power inrush and also avoids unnecesay mechanical stress on the parts. Its a very nice setup to have that 3phase electrical motor geverned by a VDF.

Awesome mill. I want an electric one just like it. Might want to think about flipping the saw head by 180 degrees so that it spits the sawdust away from your shop building rather than dusting the building and all of the electrical connections. You are going to have to use a shovel or a blower to keep the walkway clear between the saw and the building. She’s a beautiful beast! Excited to see you put her to work.

Depending which way the wind blows along your building, you may want to make a shield for the compressor for the AC behind the mill for while you are running it so fine saw dust doesn't get sucked into it while the compressor is running (or at least since you have a hose there, rince it well when done milling so it doesn't build up in the fins and restrict air flow)

I worked a two man saw mill similar to this one in 1980. Only the log was on a movable rack feeding the saw. It had a 48" horizontal chain saw bar. My father-in-law built it. We cut 3" slabs of walnut for gun stocks. We sold to Benelli, Remington, and a couple of high end gun makers. He chose the grain, laid out a template and cut the blank. I dipped the ends in wax and all the other work grunt work. Brings back memories. There would be less pressure on the blade if they used wedges to keep the weight of the slab from pincing it.

The blade guides need to be as close as possible to the edges of the cut to help avoid deflection. There is also supposed to be a recommended test you can do to check blade tightness. ALWAYS clean off the wood, any dead or rotted and dirty parts, since that will dull the blade quicker than most anything. Poor chip removal and overheating is the enemy, so be careful in the summer running that mill in the sun and heat of the day. A canopy to get cover wouldn't hurt ya fellers now. The VFD is necessary for the type of motor they are using, and probably has the ability to ramp up and down for soft start/stop, and should be able to sense load on the motor and in turn increase the power to maintain consistent blade speeds. Very nice. I think all that you need now is a large format slab planer and your table top game would be unstoppable.

Amazing how long a chain saw stays sharp as long as you avoid dirt. I imagine the same for a band. Sounds like you have experience! Why do they avoid carbide tipped? Is it simply the cost? And why can't tooth spacing be even wider, say 1 tooth per every 2 or 3 inches? At the rpms they're going, it ought to work. Damn the surface finish. Who needs smooth off the mill?

Dr Hank McCoy X-Men VFD is Variable Frequency Drive. It is a type of motor controller that drives an electric motor by varying the frequency and voltage supplied. Its used to aid the ramp-up and ramp-down during start up and shut down. You should keep those cuts together and using liquid glass (black epoxy) and pour it into all the voids. That would make a beautiful large table.

VFD variable frequency drive. Can control the speed that the motor starts and runs at as well as more control over torque the motor produces.
@rossen_nikov
@rossen_nikov 2 жыл бұрын
The abbreviation of VFD was already "decoded". The only think I will add is that the frequency is directly related to the speed of the motor and not to the power. But the VFD does keep an "eye" on the current drawn from the motor so it is not overloaded. The more advanced VFD's have feedback with several parameters incl. the real frequency (rpm) of the shaft as well as the temperature of the motor to protect it from overheating. It also starts the motor up smooter (so-called soft start) and can stop it much faster (if needed). Also protects the motor and the circuits from overcurrent during the transition time.

A VFD takes regular a/c power and turns it into D/C power which helps with energy and power modulation in which will allow the motor to ramp up or down depending on logic in computer/ board.
@music1hic
@music1hic 2 жыл бұрын
A VFD is also a good way to phase convert. While it is a great tool to run at different speeds by fluctuations in the voltage and Hz on a linear curve as opposed to a reduced voltage starter ( soft start). If you only have single phase power coming in to your shop, a VFD can “make up” the third leg for three phase. This all assuming voltage is the same across the board, but it can too be changed with transformers.
