Each year in the 10th Mountain Division, I walked over 100 miles with my rucksack (equivalent to a bugout bag), and let me tell you... I learned a thing or two from it (with blisters to show). In this video I'll go over 8 bugout bag tips I learned from long-haul humping a ruck, that will make your SHTF journey a little easier, and help you pack your go-bag with functionality and practicality in mind.
It may not be our prettiest video, but the information's all there.
If YOU have any bugout questions or tips that you'd like to share, go ahead and leave us a question or a tip at: WarriorLifeTips.com and if we use it in an upcoming broadcast, we'll give you credit AND send you a free "thank you gift" in the mail.

I always tell people to test their bugout bag and how much gear they're packing by actually walking with it - even just a mile or two. Well, how about a HUNDRED miles? Been there. Sucks! But there are a LOT of lessons to be learned and I think you'll find these helpful! Would love your feedback and any other tactics you've learned when it comes to how/what you're packing. Hooah!

Did you walk 100 miles and sleep 3 to 4 days out on the trail with that exact pack with those exact items in it, or are you just referring to the time you did it as an 11B?

Well done man and great tips! I follow the same and just purchase a butt pouch for my setup. Roaring fire just came out with a good one. They have a last day sale for Father’s Day right now on it.👍🍻🥃👊🏼

Currently working 130miles away from home. Trying to condense down my get home bag to a size that will allow me the best way to get home without killing myself stupidly.

Respectfully suggest you consider adding a suitable bike/rack on your primary vehicle. Lot easier to carry gear on wheels than on foot. Jeff's X-Bob bag is designed to detach and be spread out over a bicycle frame to prevent you from being off-balanced/getting injured trying to wear the pack and ride. If there's anyone you know or might introduce yourself to along your route, the prospect of caching resupply items at a "friendly" location might be made workable (If you're not there in "x" days after an event, your "friend" is welcomed to use your supplies). Lacking that, look for potential spots that you could bury or conceal supplies for later retrieval. Hanging items in off-road trees using paracord and heavy duty trash sacks may be another viable option for you. Water is a prime candidate for unattended caching - it's heavy and it doesn't cost a lot to replace if stolen/removed in normal times. At that distance, don't overlook how you plan your water crossings if bridges are out (may also be used by road pirates as fatal funnel choke points). Don't overestimate how much weight you can realistically carry over such a distance - careful planning will be your best friend should you need to make this journey under adverse conditions. Hope these ideas help stimulate more options for you!

I live in the northeast and would never walk anywhere more then 10 miles in any scenario that I would use a "BUGOUT" bag----- Kudos to you doing this and illustrating some good technical points but not really applicable in a bug out. What you fail to consider is that it is not just a hike in a normal day---- using this by default means its actually an escape and evasion with hostile people and/or conditions to an unknown location.....

I think you fail to consider natural disasters. Not every bug out is going to be a lawless wild west

@@Warrior bless up thank you! That’s exactly right sir! I’m taking calculus and running a mile after every class and tutoring session. Hoping my sacrifice helps both me and the world later. I’m trying to get a gig at NREL the nat’l renewable energy labs in my beloved mtn. state. Barring this, my next goal albeit not as desirable will be to join either NAVY or SPACE FORCE as an officer to do research into sustainable fuels and synthetic biology 🧬. Either way i’m gonna have to learn to run ALOT! thank you for your support

@@chupacabra304 Admirable goals. Learn to acknowledge the small steps as well as the big ones. Forward momentum is the key, no matter how small. You'll get there. I have no doubts. One suggestion that's helped me a lot is Tony Robbins' Personal Power Program. It's been a game changer for me in my life and I highly suggest it for the steps you're taking. Stay with it. :-)

So when are you going to make your BOB available for sale on your website?
@Warrior
@Warrior 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Richard Badgley. Sorry that we don't offer it on any of our websites because they're custom made and we don't stock a lot of them. The only place we currently offer them is inside of our free Survival Master Class here if you're interested: warriorlife.com/xbob/. We give a discount during the class as well.

I believe those particular "Pack All" branded bags are currently unavailable. If you search for "roll up compression bag" or similar "compression travel bag", there are many equivalents from a variety of suppliers.
