The idea you would be in a duel in SHTF is the most boomer thing ever. My 10/22 with my NV set up will be pecking off .556 boys all night

So you admitted the mylar bags or garbage? ( "FOR LONG-TERM USE" ) So What would you replace that with for long-term use? Because if you're not talking long-term in every piece of gear. I Find It Irrelevant.

Have you ever hiked long distance in an alicepack or similar backpack with and without the frame? I have. It's like night and day. Those 2 lbs of weight are significantly worth the comfort. It adds rigidity to the pack, the gap between your back and the frame allows airflow and If you utilize the waist belt, it properly distributes the weight partially onto your hips. It has utility after you get to a second location for transporting loads without a pack. The frame is non negotiable. If you want to go for a pack with a simpler and lighter frame, that's fine, but removing the frame altogether for the sake of weight management is shortsighted.

I went without electricity for 1 month, after a hurricane blew through my neighborhood in Florida, in 2005. I was somewhat prepared, but you really don't realize what life becomes (without electricity) until you experience it - it really STINKS. I now live in AZ and I'm very well prepared to live in the event of a long term "grid down" scenario, but it will still STINK for sure. I'll have food, water, etc. but enjoyable, "normal" life will be over, and the quality of life I now have will be gone. The danger, stress, idleness, etc. of daily life is continual, and "dreaming" of anything to come is over; it's just futility. I doubt I will not want to put my .454 Casull in my mouth, and drop the hammer, after several months of "living" in such a pointless, tainted and fruitless World. I'm a Christian, and I won't live like an animal in a pointless World - I would simply send myself to Heaven.

I wonder why noone has thought of a tac. pen where the tungsten/carbide tip is the actual cylindrical ''hole'' part of the ballpoint pen tip. If it's mechanically possible to build one and make it a normal color and shape unlike some tacticool monstrocities I've seen, it won't look suspicious

I love the .22 lr, ever since a kid I always found that little cartridge so unique and interesting, also like the idea of a lever action for cycling: sadly with little finances the only .22 lr firearm I own is my 10/22, but I'm happy to just have that! Great video, and recommendations!

So glad I have your STRAC bag and your BoB. They aren't the most comfortable-to-carry bags I own, but the modularity and the instant access to an instant threat warrant some minor inconvenience

I haven’t flown in a bit , when I do I always have a messenger bag / soft leather briefcase. I have my laptop and kindle and maybe an IPad. The bag holds a few pens, I always put the defense pen in there. To your point my Sharade is pink. Sadly they no longer make that model. I always but non tactical looking defense pens and have flown dozens of times , including international with them Zero issues. I have used it twice and it is indeed Very Effective as it delivers LOTS of pain ! As you said a force multiplier. I always have a 1,000 lumen light , defense pen and also a knife even if I have to buy one after flying.

All of a sudden that Marlin Papoose 70PSS with 2.5x20 scope and 40gr Round Nose .22 makes sense. Particularly because its pretty light. You do need a backpack to store the parts. If you dont want nor use a scope then the Henry AR-7 is worth looking( but only if you dont want optics or use them);

I prefer a duel with a Smallsword myself. Triangular Smallsword with French Duello rules in public. Yes, really. Not big on pistol duels. I like the close range and danger of a sword duel. There's something to be said for a Round Nose bullet

Not only is it the weight you carry ,but the balance of the weight in your pack . I've seen peoples bags with a full size axe and hatchet . Me I carry a kukri knife instead , redundancies add to the weight you are carrying. Ounces lead to pounds, pounds lead to a whole lot of pain . Weigh your pack then go through it again to reduce your weight you will be carrying.

I am all for tactical pens, Security are well aware of what they are so don't loose them ! I carry a sharpie marker now, or knuckle single or full knuckles. I do carry and use a lot at my job a tactical pen it's a voodoo ? I think it's round pressure tip works very well.
