Nice video, Andrew. Agree with the point from your friend that if you're an obvious looking foreigner, you're better off taking taxis or Uber. When I first arrived in Medellin, I chose to live in Laureles for it's walkability. After a while, I got fed up with beggars constantly approaching me and incessant stares as I went about my day by foot which my Colombian friends don't experience to the same extent. Even my Argentine friend got mistaken for being a gringo and approached by beggars and prostitutes in some parts of El Poblado. Now I just Uber everywhere for the most part. I will say that I feel way more accepted here than in Panama city where many people defaulted to speaking to me in English, despite me speaking perfect Spanish.

When I visited downtown Medellin in 2007 I fell in love with it. Yes, some parts are sketchy but im a fan of the "old school" look that some cities have. This is what I miss the most.. A photographers paradise..

Great video. I have been discouraged by posters who claim the only safe neighborhoods in Medellin are El Poblado, Laureles ans Envigao. You have renewed my interest in visiting Medellin.

Hay Andrew, Congrats on the new baby. I wish you all the best. I saw on one of your videos, you mentioned about a company in the US to ship you things you cannot ship directly to Medellin. I am permanently moving there after 4 trips and have my life set up, but have found getting things sent can be complicated. Can you tell me a little about the company? All the Best Robert

I saw the Juliana’s Taqueria in this video but can’t find it in the map, do you have the address?
Remember first time in Medellin I was scared of the "relaxed" area, little did I realize I was in the safest area.

Now I had 3 start taking classes and all I’ve dated are trying to pick up a few words or phrases but none actually know. They all go to the same schools, I don’t get it🤷♂️

If you stay in Colombia for more than 183 days, you have to declare all your assets to DIAN. What if your information gets in the wrong hands? They killed a tourist for 2K a few months ago.
@MedellinBuzz6 ай бұрын
First of all, you should consult a professional about that. I recommend nexo.legal. Second I haven’t heard of tax information being leaked to criminals. Third, if it’s that much of a concern just don’t overstay the 182 days.
@hamid11066 ай бұрын
@MedellinBuzz I have already talked to 3 accounting firms. Just because you didn't hear about DIAN data leak, it doesn't mean that it didn't happen. Banks and DIAN information leaks happen a lot. Staying away more than six months a year is not favorable to me
@MedellinBuzz6 ай бұрын
@@hamid1106 I didn’t say it didn’t exist. Again if you’re scared just stay away. It’s not complicated.
