Her dad is the general lead of the shop so that makes things a little uncomfortable talking to her at work. Recently unfortunately a coworker that neither her nor I were close with committed suicide. She called me crying about it and wanted to be comforted by me. Her and I aren't even that close. We talk to eachother at work a couple of times a day if that. For her to call me instead of another co worker or her bf says a lot. She's nervous around me as am I around her. That could be she likes me or I'm making her nervous because of how nervous I get. The other signs says that's not the case though. She's a beautiful hard working girl that's been with the same guy for 9 years. She doesn't get around or crave the attention from other guys that I've seen. Next weekend I'm going to text her and ask her to meet me somewhere for a beer. I'm going to ask her about the strong tension between us and what she thinks causes it. I'm going to state how I feel about her quickly and nonchalantly and then I'm going to give her some space. I'm going to start dating more. Eric Rowland If I can offer some advice, "call me when you can take things a little more seriously" is too confrontational and will very likely put her off. It sounds like something a teacher would say to a kid and although thats how you might be feeling, you have to find a seductive way to say it like what the first guy said which was "If you ever get tired give me a call". Okay, I'm in this situation: I have a colleague which I like. Few weeks ago I told her: "Hey we should hangout together!" and, to my surprised, she agreed on that. She replied something like: "Yes, sure! When you are around in the city, just tell me, and we can hang out!". I was surprised because, until that moment, she never wanted to hangout with our team. Hence, I wasn't expecting her to agree on hanging out just the two of us. So I set a date, she agreed, but then she asked me to reschedule it to the following week. We finally went out and we spent the evening in a restaurant. We started talking about the summer vacation and she told me she had issues with her stomach. I thought it was related to food, even if that sounded strange cause she traveled within Europe. Indeed, when I asked her if it was caused by the food, she said it wasn't and here she hit me with the bomb. Out of the blue she mentioned, as if this was a causal information, that she has a boyfriend and she was having issues with him, that's why she couldn't eat. Further done the conversation, she stated how much she hates cheaters and how she considers even the mere flirting with someone else, cheating. Now, I can agree on this but, at that point, I was wondering: "If you put your money where your mouth is, what are you doing here alone with me?". Now I am totally confused. Why did she accept to go to a restaurant, just the two of us, if she has a BF and, "forgetting" to tell me this until we were actually on the date? I still like her but now I have no clue what does she want from me! For sure, I don't want to be her friend and I'm sure she knows it. Bare in mind that I don't chat with her every day. We just happened to have some brief conversations, every now and then (Weeks may go by between one conversation and the other). I've used the chat in these last few weeks only to set the date and arrange the whole thing.

We would make the plans and the day of or before she would cancel. I would just say "no worries we can always hang out a different time". And I would continue living my life. It also helped that I worked with mostly girls so I would talk to most of them. As friends though not really flirty. Eventually she would ask me to hang out and we would. I never took it seriously. I've watched dozens of dating advice videos and noticed that many of them assume that you already have her number and are able to text or call a prospective love interest. Though the advice is helpful, my point is that it's awkward to ask a lady for her number especially if she is spoken for. A lot of women will tell you to hit them up on social media. To me, that is the friend zone and I just can't get myself to do that. Did I miss the video that says you have to get the number first before you can put any of this advice to use?

I'm in this situation right now... is it really worth it to express my feelings, then let it go? Or is it not even worth it and it's just better to after a while talk to her and see if she still has a boyfriend, then if she doesn't ask her out, once she's free? I don't really like the position of being "the second option" but I arrived in her life in a moment when she had a boyfriend so that's what it is. @@lukehart7225 man the problem is the eternal dilemma.. You don't express your feelings? She will think "you should've told me"... You express your feelings? She will think "another one! (great for my ego boost) wel... We'll see how much I can push him to do and if I see he's going to sacrifice a lot for me I MIGHT consider him, now that I know for sure he likes me" So tbh. The best imo is to talk casually with her, SHOW that you are attracted to her or show interest in her, but never express your feelings cause that never plays right for men. I think that men should never express feeling if the woman hasn't shown at least some interest, and not just friendship interés but romantic... Something like she complements you on how you look, or she's very interested in your life etc, then you can say something like "damn... Tbh I really like you, it's unfortunate you've got a boyfriend... I'd really like to make you a very happy girl but (then you can say jokingly) I guess I gotta wait for my turn to be with your highness!!" (or something just to avoid any tension.. But at the same time let her know. But again, that only AFTER there's interest from both sides. Doing this stuff before time will only show her needyness, weakness, emotional immaturity and lack of emotional resilience. Also she'll feel very powerful, like she can easily dominate you and make you submit. Unfortunately that's the way it is. MY status with this girl now is that she left me on "seen" about a couple weeks ago with apparently no reason, so I've just been silent. Maybe she contacts me back, maybe not. If she doesn't I guess I'll just send her a message in say a month or 2 just to "catch up". But I feel I cannot be emotionally invested with a woman that has a guy and that's leaving me on seen. Even though I'm dying to ralk with her. That control is exactly that emotional resilience that I'm talking about. It can be either a test or her relationship is just going very well now. The gain for me here is that either way I don't look like I need her nor that the moment she stops responding I'll always be there. It's taken all mind control from me, even more in this alone covid lockdown times it's been specially hard. But let's see. Maybe I'll update this comment once we talk again lol

@@lukehart7225 don't take anythung as a real sign of interest until you actually see actions... Words and guesses mean nothing, sorry to say that but I've been there and believe me.. So I'd say is live your life totally with the purpose of YOU being happy. And for sure, ask her questions, chat with her more than other girls and ask more questions to her than other girls nothing too exaggerate but women tend to compare the attention you give to them compared to other women to gauge you. So do that, and if she gets upset or not that's not your problem. But try those weekend plans are real, otherwise you're going to start to create an image of you that isn't real. And say... She asks you about how was "that weekend" you were talking about. She'll spot your lies immediately and that'll be very very unattractive. So keep it real. Don't expect anything and work on being happy by yourself, you wouldn't believe how powerful that is. A huge key thing is don't create or modify your life around her or what she likes, or you believe she likes or absolutely anything about her, if she likes you she'll come or initiate. Now, as I said before if you guys eventually chat quite a bit and such, you can tell playfully that she's great and you like her, but don't make it look too serious nor make a dumb joke about it. Let her know you're a cool relaxed guy who enjoys his time with her. I know I write a lot, but in these cases the devil is in the details.
