Thank you for asking that question. Its about history culture way of life, way of thinking, attitudes to our women and children, pride in our country, our sense of humour. We are a quiet peaceful people. Alot of the people coming to our country are loud and brash. We do not want those people to be a representation of Irish, because that is not who we are.

I could be here for 10 hours typing. I will give you some Hints GAA, Craic, Gaelige, Myths, Folklore, Music I could go on forever. I was brought up in England to an Irish family and I go over and see the differences. It’s a nationality shaped by 1000 years of occupation by a foreign power that systematically abused and plundered the population.

I think it’s good to normalise being a different nationality to the ethnicity as it’s something I’m fed up of explaining and having it thrown in my face of ‘I’m not a real Indian’

I never ever understand why some people deny their true identity and where they come from. I see people, not these people in the clip, who cant even speak english, saying they are irish. I suppose it basically means that they are either proud of the country of their origin, or too ashamed to admit to being from there.

On the point of if a black man can be viewed as Irish, in my eye undoubtedly (as anyone can be under the concept of Irish republicanism) but there's a growing ethno nationalist movement (funded by right wing British parties) of which the followers would say "Ireland for the Irish" all while forgetting their brothers and sisters living in the occupied north

It's a simple concept, by nation they are irish, ethnically they are not But if they are born and raised Into irish culture they are more irish than not

Irish Republicanism is Nationalist and a Nationalist movement and the Irish Republican people down south have absolutely nothing what so ever to do with Britain or Britishness down South is Irish Up north is British! Its real deal Irish people nothing to do with so called far right as the essences of Irish Republicanism is based on communism and socialism the complete opposite of the right or far right! The IRA and Fianna, the Youth wing of the IRA and now days Antifa are all far left extremist organisations again nothing to do with Britain or the right!

@@rml4289 who is ethnically Irish though? Are the Norman settlers who took names like Fitzpatrick Irish? What about the Ulster Scots? What about those with Norse ancestry? Is it only the indigenous Gaels that are Irish ethnically or anyone we'd class as white that's been here along enough? Ethno-nationalism was never the basis of republicanism (the concept of a Protestant huguenot, Wolfe Tone) so it's not so straightforward

@KimJong-101 the chances of them mixing with indigenous gaels is very high, there's a reason irish people look very similar and have a certain look If your ancestry goes back centuries and you've mixed along the way with irish then you're ethnically irish
