you can't buy the actual panthera buttons, but the switches inside the panthera evo are most likely razer yellows, so if you want you can actually try to find single razer yellow switches, and change the ones inside the gamerfinger, like how you change them normally. I'm pretty sure that you can find some through mech keyboard groups, and they shouldn't be too expensive as well.

I put them in my hitbox and I love that any MX switch fits in them! I actually put razor MX-oranges in my movement buttons, which are like the MX-browns but a little bit better (until focusattack ran out of them). But god dammit why is gamerfinger always sold out of 24mm!?!?

I actually LOVE the loudness of standard Sanwa buttons. I don't know why, but it just feels so satisfying to press these loud buttons. It also helps me to keep the rhythm of my combos in check lol

I like blue switches for the exact reasons he mentioned tactile and auditory feedback for actuating without bottoming out the key. Rubber O rings can further quieten the buttons at the cost some of the tactile feedback of the full travel switches.

If you liked Cherry Blues, wait until you try Kailh Speed Pinks. They're a straight upgrade, especially for gaming. Although they're clicky, they actuate very fast (hence the name SPEED Pink), and even the click itself is better than the Cherry Blue's. It's less tinny and lower pitched. Source: I've researched and experimented with keyboard switches... more than I care to admit. My current hotswappable keyboard is rocking some Frankenswitches I've made out of Gateron blacks and some Chinese brand's blues, except my spacebar has a "Jailhouse" blue switch I've made with an o-ring.

haha 2 years late but i'll comment it anyway. It's unfortunate, but gamer fingers don't support switches aside from cherry mx switches, but to be exact it's the housing. I tried to fit in c3 = tangerines, kailh box jades, and they both can't fit. only official cherry mx housings can fit. Personally, linear switches in these buttons feel too mushy for me as my other set of buttons, punk workshop buttons, work and feel absolutely fantastic with the tangerine switches. Gamer fingers edge it in terms of build quality however. As such, I'm settling for cherry mx blue switches, and I may consider trying putting in the kailh box jades stems in the housing to see whether it might work, but if it feels good enough, I'll probably just leave it as is.

blue and green switches- have a tactile bump and an audible click (since you are using buttons and not key caps i don't think it will be that loud) red and black- liner, goes straight down with no bump or noise brown and white- tactile bump but no noise is made. I might be wrong on some of this so feel free to correct me.

You can buy the genuine cherry switches in sets from any keyboard enthusiast website for a few bucks in all of their variants and some cherry clones from china which have a completely different feel to them. Since they were originally designed for a niche keyboard market this is the first time i seen them being used for a arcade stick hmmm.

Cherry MX switches are naturally scratchy in nature. It’s recommended you either lube them or purchase switches from Kailhua, Razer, or any other manufacturer as they happen to be much smoother.

I used to have an arcade stick. It was the Hori V3 for my PS3. And that stick was piece of crap. The lever and the buttons were not very responsive. This was before I found out that arcade sticks could be modified. The stick wasn't very responsive, so I got mad, smashed the sucker to timbuktu, threw it in the garbage and never thought about that crappy stick ever again. And when I saw the insides of the V3 on KZbin, it made me hate the V3 even more because there was a giant circuit board in the way of the buttons and the wires. In other words, the stick wasn't solder-free. My advice to you arcade stick geeks out there is stick with the solder-free arcade sticks, meaning you don't have to worry about putting up with giant circuit boards being in the way of the buttons and the wires.

im a little late to the party (i randomly came across this video), but a little info for you, Cherry MX switches are built to last, with an official rating of 50 million key presses. This means that for 50 million presses the switch will feel the same the entire time, the force to press it down will not change, and the switch will not break. Green is the most heavy switch of them all, it requires 80cN of force to press vs the next highest at 65cN (Cherry MX Clear) and the next one would be the Cherry MX Black at 60cN of force. The lightest switch is the Cherry MX Speed Silver (45cN) which also has the shortest travel distance before the switch will work 1.2mm. The Cherry MX Blue switches require 60cN of force to press and have a travel distance of 2.2mm and a total travel of 4mm. If you are looking for the fastest switches i would go with the Silver ones as they are the lightest buttons and have the shortest travel time, I know I am talking about milliseconds and millimeters here, so the difference is not that great, but hey an advantage is an advantage! Also I would think carefully about Razer, as they were denied a partnership with Cherry MX (who has switches in every major brand keyboard) and are using a chinese knockoff clone of the Cherry MX switches. Razer makes claims of 80million presses but does not give any detail on what that means. Razer also has claims of high quality control, but their switches tend to fail a lot more than Cherry MX switches. One big issue with Razer is that their switches are known to bend if you apply a little bit of force (not a lot, heavy typing and in your case rapid hard button presses). Razer is also known for their terrible warranty system where they have been known to drag out issues that are submitted to them very close to the end date of the warranty and claim that your product is now out of warranty and refuse to fix it under warranty. They are also known to flat out void your warranty as the warranty agreement states that they can at any time for any or no reason void your warranty. Their products tend to be the most cheaply made products with the highest price tag (they are like the Apple of the gaming world) and because of their poor designs a lot of their products last only as long as the warranty does. For the PC side of them (keyboards, mice, laptops) they have a spyware system they force you to instal which does log your key presses and mouse clicks (both how many times you have clicked and where on your screen you have clicked) this info is worth a LOT to hackers and you can not use razer products without this software on a PC. They have even gone sofar as to start up a cryptocoin mining system where they have users mine for crytocurrency on their own computers and give Razer all the cryptocurrency that has been mined, in return the user gets a fraction of the value given back to them in the form of a credit towards Razer products. They are not a company to trust and I would rethink about promoting them at all.

Those Gamer Finger buttons are really impressive, I've really been debating if I should drop the hammer on a set.. this video does not make it easy lol. I'm like you man the hobby of customization is so fun. Sanwa makes good parts don't get me wrong.. but I'm the kind of person that wants to experience every manufacturer and every take on arcade parts. So far I have owned Sanwa, Seimitsu, Crown and Happ/iL buttons and honestly I have liked certain things about all of them. I think people that think Sanwa is the only way they can play, are missing out on the spice of life which is variety. My next stick build will be a Myoungshin Fanta and Crown buttons. Then it will be sourcing out or building a good enclosure for my Happ/iL parts So I can finally finish it. People that love this hobby, don't be afraid to try new brands and new experiences. I guess I'm going to take my own advice and get some Gamer Fingers.

I know exactly how you feel. I got some Seimitsu 24mm/30mm for the movement buttons on my Hitbox build, just to try them out (thinking that the stronger actuation force might feel better for movement). But now comparing the 24mm buttons, Seimitsu seems better built than Sanwa, they're less wobbly and the plunger fits in the body better. I thought it was crazy considering how much praise Sanwa gets but now I think I like Seimitsu better, at least for 24mm buttons. Never would've known if I just stuck with Sanwa like everyone suggests. And now after watching this I want to try some 24mm Gamerfingers lol

I am SO glad someone finally made a review of these. Could never find one until now. Saw the gamerfinger buttons a while ago and thought "No way, someone put keyboard switches into an arcade buttons." My immediate thought was I wanted to build a hitbox with them, but I didn't want to dump money into it yet. I think I can say that i'm convinced and I think i'll do it. I just hope they make more colors for the smaller buttons.

I think there should be some sort of difference between the buttons even if you like only one type. Be it the texture on the top, or the feedback, it will help significantly to know where your hands lie until one has acclimated for muscle memory.

I wish you had some Cherry MX Black switches in the mix. Of all Cherry MX switches, they have the strongest spring in them.I believe they have the same tactile feedback that the Brown switches do too. Also, some silicone o-rings on the switch's post will eat a lot of that sound; noticeably quieter. The thicker the o-ring, the more it will deaden the sound, just like on a keyboard. If you still want to use traditional buttons, without the high-pitch sound of a Sanwa, Seimitsu buttons have a much deeper sound. Sanwa: "tick tick tick" Seimitsu: "tock tock tock"

the best part about these buttons (I've owned a set for about 6 years, just bought a second set for another stick) is that if the microswitch fails, you don't have to buy a new button, just a new switch, and microswitches are very cheap. You can get a set of 10 for 15 bucks.

If you want to try some nice keyboard switches, I would reccomend you the zealpc Healios silent linear switches. If you want something with the light tactility and a nice click, if the stem fits the housing of the controller buttons. Keyboard community is pretty crazy if you get into it and there is so much more you could do with switches outside of Cherry MX switches so if you can use your own switches, I would really reccomend to go much more into each type of switch since the most expensive you could spend on a set of 10 switches to get something significantly better is quite nice. The Silent switches will have a slightly softer bottom out feel than the non silenced switches. I REALLY WOULD RECOMMEND DOING THIS IF YOU STILL USE THESES SWITCHES (since it is 8 months out of when you posted this video).

If you like Cherry MX blues, Try Gateron Blues or Cherry/Gateron Greens. Gateron are a cheaper alternative to Cherries with a smoother travel (no downsides, either; Cherry are just expensive because of clout), and greens are a heavier variant of blues, which might suit you better.

Ima keep it real, I love the buttons on the Hori Real Arcade Pro V Ryu edition. Have a great clicky key feel that isn’t on old fashioned arcade sticks. I have that and a Panthera and I prefer that style over the more traditional style button on the panthera. I do miss arcade cabinet buttons with the small indents in them. Almost like a bowl. You’d see them more so in like light gun cabinets but boy do they feel great

the Green switches are indeed Kaihua/razer switches which are Cherry MX clones (aruguably of inferior quality, whereas the cherry mx blues might feel more consistent from switch to switch the Razer/Kaihuas have the tendency to be all over the place - that being said im using a kaihua blue switch based keyboard right now and it has been serving me perfectly fine for the last 3 years or so)

It seems as though double tapping is pointless because the characters don’t register input fast enough to pick up the combo punch and kick. It looks cool but how practical is double tapping?

Double tapping isn’t for doing a move twice, it’s to increase your chances of registering an input in a short time window. It’s very practical and easy to do once you get used to it. In my opinion it also adds to the kinetic joy of playing on arcade stick

Cherry Browns and Blues really aren't for arcade sticks. The switches are designed to provide tactile (Brown) and tactile + audio (Blue) feedback to typists. Cherry Red, Silent Red, Gateron Yellow and Cherry Black, or any other linear type are the logical choice if you're going to build Cherry patent switches into arcade buttons at all.

I haven’t been playing on switch that much but when I do yes, I use the hori Rap still. Its easy to mod and for the price it’s hard to fault it. Just happen to be playing mostly on PS4 and staying consistent with Sanwa buttons recently on the run up to evo japan :)

Your preference for blue and silver makes sense. I haven't tried the gamer fingers, but on a keyboard people generally like blues for regular typing. They're tactile and clicky and feel nice in general. They're pretty loud on a keyboard though, and it requires higher-than-normal force to press them down. They're still quieter than stock Sanwa though and you put a lot of force into your presses anyway though so they sound pretty suitable for you. Silvers are relatively new and built for gaming. Lower required force and travel distance for optimal twitchy responsiveness. Reds are like silvers with higher travel distance so no reason to use them. Browns are like reds but are quieter in exchange for less clicky feel. If the silvers are quiet enough for you though no reason to use brown. I don't know much about green but looks like they require the most force to press.

Do you have a vid of what it takes to install rgb led Buttons or some kinda mod to light up my MayFlash f500? Or if you know what all I’d need I’d greatly appreciate it. I’m looking to order some but I don’t wanna make a rookie mistake lol.

the brown switches are tactile and feels nicer in my opinion, i use them on my stick and keyboard

I knew youd like them! Personally my favorite right now are 35g gateron silents, and while i did have issues in the beginning with them and you gotta be careful with the leads on the switches, i love it...i just wish they had standard colors so i can have it matching with my other buttons on my hitbox

most silent switches are black and brown , blue and red are louder if you try them on a keyboard , i think you should try them on each hole for see if the sound different in each zone . It's impossible that brown are louder than blue.

i know nothing about fight sticks but was interested in buying one and wanted to switch out the buttons to a different color and was looking into these but i know nothing about the size of them the webpage says 24 and 30 and the fight stick i want sais nothing about the size it uses so how do i know what size to buy? i want to buy the Victrix Pro FS with the joystick and i know i dont need something that cost that much if im just looking to get into it but i like how it looks lol

Maybe put some dampening material in your stick? I saw some guys put some kind of foam inside to make them quieter.

one think if you want a silent switch you need to get the cherry silent red or silent black switches and if you want clicky switches get kailh box white,kailh speed pink,kailh box jade the clicks rlly nice

Red, blue and brown are most popular in PC keyboards.

There are many other switch options out there as well, not just Cherry. If you want more customization with different tactile feels, weights, etc., there are many boutique switch options that you can research on mechanical keyboard forums and reddit.

NihongoGamer if you enjoy the Cherry Blues, consider looking at Kailh Box White switches. They use a click bar instead of a click sleeve and it has an even more responsive click. There is a brand new keyboard store in Akihabara called Yusha Kobo Keyboard and they have tons of switches for you to try.

Man was looking into getting these for my stick. Thanks for the video. I have a Razer Blackwidow Tournament Edition 10 keyless for PC lans. Like the Panthera it has switches you can only get by buying the keyboard. Razer calls them greens. But there Greens are more like blues MX blues. They have a little more heavy spring at 50 grams instead of 45 grams. They activate early and rebound faster. And I just looked it up. You can buy them online. But don't know if they have the same pin out. Would have to look that up. But these are worth the try.
