Amazing control, small and low profile, super quiet, works perfectly, feels great, incredibly comfy, and it comes with all those lights I don't even use. Fast, responsive, easy to maintain, sturdy, trustwhorthy and cheap. A true gem of a product. I also loved the simple and small cardboard box: I currently use it to keep some extra switches and buttons, a few silencer rings and the tools for piece removal and cleaning. One of my best purchases ever, and one of my favorite objects to have.

Haute G16 user here, LOVE IT! It makes fighting games so much fun, and it was an absolute bargain when I got it. Wish I got the 12 button though, I'd rather get used to button combinations than having extra button shortcuts.. I prefer simpler things, but as it is now it's better to use the extra buttons than to ignore the extra clutter. [edit] Nevermind what I said here, I realized that for SF6 for example, having a Drive button near the thumb is much better than doing the proper button combo.

Decent build quality, looks good, feels great. I was worried I'd miss my sanwa buttons, but the switches feel great. As a nerd for customization, the T16 is amazing. I've been using the older smaller version and hitbox only layout for speedruns and I've been playing on keyboard for awhile. Another side note is that this controller size is incredibly small and the bunched up nature will have you hunching over after a few hour's back ache can easily creep in. Solid buy!

I really disliked the Kitsune because the button layout is really wide. I was getting a lot of execution errors coming from the Snackbox which had a more narrow button layout, and my hands got fatigued really fast. I went with the S16 over the T16 because the S16 button layout is more narrow. Your thoughts regarding the size was a real problem for me, so my friend ended up getting the dimensions of the S16 and making a laser cut acrylic case to replace the original acrylic. This made my S16 about the same size as the Snackbox micro. The case leaves a little space for a booter that's permanently connected so I can take it to tournaments too. I fully believe it's the most perfect peripheral in the world! Great video!

I've got the 13-button version of this. Liking it a lot, although the extra up button (in the WASD position) feels a little uncomfortable to me. I think it should be closer, even if that meant making it smaller so that the center of the button is closer to the down button. I love leverless for beat-em-ups but up at the bottom is too confusing in most of them, so I was hoping this would be the perfect solution for the up button, but it's pretty umcomfortable. Other than that, really nice. I have another cheap leverless (FightBox) but it's too big for me to comfortably use on a couch without immediate wrist strain. With the small haute, it's not an issue at all.

I have one of these and it is a great budget option, however it still suffers from the terrible standard layout which places the right and left hand on top of each other. I still have no idea how this became the standard for leverless. I predict that we will start to see more controllers with more space between hands.
@hteety4 ай бұрын
It's standard because flexibility for the up button is pretty useful. There are a number of reasons you might choose to hit jump with either your left or right hand, but you'll never have this flexibility if they're spread any further out.
@voidandnon-25304 ай бұрын
@@hteety With where it currently is, I could hit the up button and another button not just with the same hand, but with the same thumb/finger. If they gave it just an extra inch, it would still be super easy to hit 'Up' with your right hand, even if you have tiny baby hands. There is zero reason to keep it in this layout, other than tradition. I HIGHLY recommend people take a look at Mavercade devices.
@hteety4 ай бұрын
@@voidandnon-2530 If we're talking about personal preference, as someone with small hands, an inch to the right would be too far to hit comfortably with my right hand. It's both a stretch, and requires me to position my wrist more towards the center, infinitely worse than the current design where the jump is centered, and the buttons are tilted outwards towards the bottom of the controller to make it so that you don't have to twist your wrists as much. Moving that button would both make it less accessible, and ergonomically worse for people with hands my size or smaller, maybe even for those with hands ever so slightly larger than mine. in some cases, especially with older standards, asking why something is the way it is is valid. Keyboards are a great example, since the key layout sucks, and the physical layout also sucks. However, the Hitbox and Leverless controllers are new, and ergonomics is something that is already heavily considered during this time. In fact, one of the big draws is specifically the ergonomics, with many many many people reporting this current layout is what allowed them to continue playing fighting games after using sticks or even pads for a long time. This design likely wasn't based off of but feelings. Afterall, we also have models like the Smashbox for spread hand layouts that also work well. Ever wonder why despite this, the current leverless layout is the norm? Turns out, what works for you doesn't work for the majority. Even when making custom layouts, most pros choose a large, centered jump button, and both hands being in the middle. It's not like a spread layout can't work, smash players who use smashbox, boxx, or any similar device do so in what is probably considered a much more technical game than any 2D fighter, yet we've chosen to adopt the middle jump layout with close hands for a reason.

I bought a Haute42 T13 as my first leverless controller not being sure of the legality of the 16 button. For the most part I am very satisfied with the controller. My only con is it is not 720 grappler friendly. I tried the slide 720 technique for a standing 720's and after a bit of practice some of the directional button caps came off. They where able to be easily reattached but never tried the technique again. Guess I will need to get a hitbox in the future for grapplers.

iirc as long as you don't have a second jump button enabled it's fine. And if you ever worry about legality, at tournaments then you can just always pop out the switch and play as if it was default hitbox layout.
